DONALD RAY BOWMAN JR.

SANFORD — Mr. Donald Ray Bowman, Jr. of Sanford, N.C., died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Central Carolina Hospital.

Mr. Bowman was born in Lee County, N.C. on April 8, 1974, to Donald Ray Bowman and Carolyn Elaine Baker Bowman. Donald was a wonderful son and uncle and he was a friend to many. He was an avid fisherman and was employed as a truck driver for Willis Shaw and MCT Transportation. He graduated from Lee Sr. High School in 1993.

He is survived by his parents, Donald Ray Bowman and Carolyn Elaine Baker Bowman; a sister, Kelly Bowman Stacy of Sanford, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Tyler Herring, Sarah Madison Stacy, and Dylan Stacy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 21, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Oldham officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.

JAMES SCOTT YOW SR.

SANFORD — Funeral service for James Scott Yow Sr. 68, of Sanford, who died Monday (6/16/14), was held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry W. Parsons officiating. Burial followed at the Broadway Town Cemetery.

Debbie Oldham was the pianist. Gene McNeill was the soloist. Recorded music was played. His son, Scott Yow, gave the eulogy.

Pallbearers were Tommy Collins, Dalton Walters, Mike Oglesbee, Chris Thomas, David Kelly, Corky Rogers, Calvin McNeil and Scott Kulhanek.

Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

BOBBY RAY SNIPES

SANFORD — Bobby Ray Snipes, 37, of 565 Worthy Road, Sanford, died Wednesday (6/18/14) at Central Carolina Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Knotts Funeral Home.

GLENN MARSHALL POOLE

SANFORD — Glenn Marshall Poole, 77, of Sanford, died Thursday (6/19/14).

He was born on June 16, 1937, in Lee County, to the late William Thelbert Poole and Mary Dowdy Poole. He was a member of Shallow Well United Church of Christ, where he served as Cemetery Agent. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Bellsouth Telephone Company.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Spivey Poole; sons, Marshall Poole (Stacy) of Jonesboro, Ark., and Curtis Poole of Benson; stepsons, Wesley Finch (Cindy) of Asheboro and Malcolm Moore (Jill) of Benson; a daughter, Mary Ellen McLaughlin (Michael) of Huntsville, Ala.; stepdaughter, Karen Ricker (Bob) of Cary; a sister-in-law, Eloise Poole of Benson; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Shallow Well United Church of Christ. Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund at Shallow Well Church, 1220 Broadway Road, Sanford, N.C. 27332.

SILER CITY — Funeral service for Homer Marsh of Harry Burnett Road, Siler City, who died Monday (6/16/14), will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Centennial A.M.E. Zion Church in Bear Creek. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

OLIVIA SNIPES

SILER CITY — Olivia Snipes, formerly of Siler City, died Sunday (6/15/14).

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel Christian Fellowship Church in Siler City. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Herbert Snipes (Willie) of White Hall, Pa., Marion Snipes of Drexter Hill, Pa., Stephen Snipes of Mason, Felicia Dixon (Will) of Durham and Christopher Snipes (Betty) of Rocky Mount; and a son-in-law, Jimmy Burnette of Raleigh.
