SANFORD — Lucille S. Hayes, 94, of Sanford, died Friday (10/11/13) at her home.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Boles Funeral Home with a service following at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Lee Memory Gardens.
She was born on July 26, 1919, in Enfield to the late Franklin and Effie Sexton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Roy Hayes; four sisters and one brother.
She is survived by two sons, Johnny Hayes and Jerry Hayes; two daughters, Susan Poindexter and Shirley Stanley; two brothers, George Sexton and William Sexton; two sisters, Nelda Lange and Becky House; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

MARIAH NICOLE JOHNSON
SANFORD — Mariah Nicole Johnson, infant, died Thursday (10/10/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.
She is survived by her parents, Marcus and Ebony Johnson of Fayetteville; one sister, Mya Johnson of Fayetteville; her grandparents Linda Stradford of Sanford, Willie Shaw of Decatur, Ga., Leon and Carmen Johnson of Cameron, NC; and a host of other family members.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Knotts Funeral Home, 719 Wall St., Sanford. Burial will be at Minter Cemetery, Sanford.
Funeral arrangements are by Knotts Funeral Home.
SANFORD — Harold C. Sawyer, 83, of Sanford, died Saturday (10/12/13) at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Carbonton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was born in Sanford, son of the late Carl F. Sawyer and Aurora Hilliard Sawyer. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel S. Hardy, and two sisters, Eloise S. Cashion and Kathleen S. Furr. He retired from the Flowers Baking Co in 1992.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Emily Howard Sawyer; sons, Steve Sawyer and wife Debbie of Macon, Ga., Randy Sawyer and wife Sharon of Sanford, and Tom Sawyer and wife Beth of Clemmons; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the graveside service.

ADELAIDE JONES GERRY
SANFORD — Adelaide Jones Gerry died on October 12, 2013 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst. She was a resident of Holt Rd. in Sanford, NC.
Mrs. Gerry was retired from Moen Inc., Tool and Dye Division. She also was half owner of Pocket Creek Pottery with her daughter, Ava Holt Clark. She also assisted her husband, Chris with growing pine trees on their Tree Farm. She enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors until her illness prevented this.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ellis and Beulah Jones and three brothers, Joel Jones, Reed Jones and Barry Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Chris Gerry; one son, Chris Holt and his wife Lynn; three daughters, Ava Holt Clark and her husband Ron, Robin Jackson and her husband Cliff and Susan Gerry Heaton and her husband Hugh; grandsons, Matt Hardy and his wife Amanda, Ben Holt, Sam Holt and Nathan Holt, C.B. Jackson, Will Jackson and Eli Jackson; granddaughters, Rachel Hardy Zwart and her husband Greg, Liza Adcock, Addie Jackson and Katie Heaton; great granddaughters, Scarlet and Violet Zwart; three sisters, Katie Holt of Sanford, LaRue Black of Cameron and Julie Thompson and her husband Ronnie of Harnett County; three brothers, Lynn Jones and his wife Janice, Norris Jones and his wife Donna and Kenneth Jones.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15 at 1 p.m. at Lamm’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Elder Carson Brown will conduct services. Visitation will be held at Lamm’s Grove Primitive Baptist Church from 12:00-1:00PM. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
