SUE ANN SHUTTS LOCKHART

SANFORD — Sue Ann Shutts Lockhart, 67, of 1115 Carthage St., Ashwood Estates, died Saturday (10/19/13) at Liberty Hospice. There are no funeral plans at this time.

BERNARD FRANCIS O’CONNELL

WHISPERING PINES — Bernard Francis O'Connell, 78, died Friday (10/18/13) at his home.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Monsignor Frank J. Hendrick officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the community building.

He was born in Springfield, Mass., on Oct. 11, 1935, to Timothy and Margaret Carpenter O'Connell. He served in the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne, 82nd ABN, 5th Group Special Forces and earned the Silver Star in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Margaret Carpenter O'Connell; and one sister, Maureen Baillargeon.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy O'Connell; three children, William O'Connell of Colorado, Dr. Kim Craft and husband David of Alaska, and Laura Barry and husband James of Fayetteville; two sisters, Kathy McGowan and Peggy Ann Schubert, both of Connecticutt; three brothers, Timothy of Florida, Patrick of New York and Terrance of Texas; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Foundation, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or a charity of one's choice.
