TOBY REID MORRISON
SANFORD — Toby Reid Morrison, 72, of Sanford, North Carolina died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness surrounded by family and friends.
Toby was born in Lee County Hospital on March 23, 1941. He was the son of the late Dan T. Morrison and Pauline Cox Morrison. Toby graduated Moncure High School in 1959 and as a youth, attended Moncure Methodist Church where he participated as a choir member. After graduation from Mitchell's Hair Styling in Raleigh, NC, Toby opened his first successful business in Sanford; Toby's Hairstyling at 107 Gordon Street, winning many competitions in hair design. In 1989, Toby began his second career as an interior designer. He opened The Design Studio at 138 S. Steele Street and became a leader in the state in interior design. He was active in promoting furniture manufacture and fabric design in the state and was the first interior designer to serve on the board of directors for the High Point Design Center. Locally, Toby promoted downtown Sanford by working with several community boards and charitable organizations. He will be remembered for his creativity, his wit and his gentle heart.
He is survived by his brother, Mack Morrison of Moncure, NC; sisters, Gail M. Thomas and husband Halford, Jennie Arnold and husband Wesley, all of Broadway; one aunt, Sadie Lou Coley of South Carolina; also survived by nephews, Jonathan Sullivan and Brian Gillis both of Broadway; Carlton Morrison, Tracy Morrison both of Durham and Travis Arnold of Broadway; one niece Courtney Gillis May of Mt. Airy, MD and several cousins.
The family would like to offer their gratitude to his many friends who supported Toby with their care and concern. And the family offers a special thank you to the staff at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation.
All are invited to celebrate the life of Toby at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Carolina Trace Country Club, Sanford, NC.
Private interment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Lee County, Common Thread of Sanford or The Temple Theater.

CAMERON — Glenn Hugh Jones, 62, of 50 Patroits Way, died Thursday (10/31/13) at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Luberta Goodwin Jones.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnsonville A.M.E. Zion Church. Burial will follow at the Johnsonville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Ann Jones; sons, Glenn Hugh Jones Jr., David L. Anderson and Alonzo Jones; stepsons, Barry Bowman, Eric Bowman and Jeffrey Brown Jr.; daughter, Charon Jones-Allen; brothers, Calvin Jones and Billy Ray Jones; sisters, Mary Weaver, Viola Jones, Barbara Jones and Shirley Tally; and a host of other relatives and friends.

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Eula B. Wilson, formerly of Starboard Bay in Sanford, died Friday (11/1/13).
She is survived by six children, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

HORACE AVERETT CAMERON
CAMERON — Funeral service for Horace Averett Cameron, 81, who died Saturday (11/2/13), was conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Brown and Dr. Carl Matthews officiating. Burial followed at Grace Chapel Cemetery with military honors.
Soloist and guitarist was Robbie Martin. Recorded music was also played.
Pallbearers were David Cameron, David Cameron Jr., Buddy Cameron, Wayne Cameron, Stephen Bowlin and Marvin Ross. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Cameron and Keith Cameron.

SANFORD — Graveside service with military honors for Horace Greely Dawson was held Tuesday at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Don Luellen officiating. A visitation was held before the service at Miller-Boles Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Gilmore, George Caviness, Ken Foushee, Jimmie Holt, Randy Gunter, Billy Thomas and Bud Hunter.
