SANFORD — Patricia Ruth Cole Bellomy, 63, died Tuesday (11/5/13) at her home.

She was born in Lee County on Jan. 12, 1950, to the late Herbert Cole and Annie Ruth Caviness Cole. She worked for Siemens-Allis Corporation, GKN and more recently Caterpillar.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Keith Bellomy; three sons, Ronnie Dunlap and wife Susan of Moncure, Donnie Dunlap of Broadway, and Kevin Dunlap and wife Lori of Sanford; brothers, Wayman Cole and wife Linda of Sanford, and Myrman Cole and wife Dixie of Oak Ridge; one sister, Joyce Barger of Sanford; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 12 noon in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Pastor Don Flynn officiating. Burial will follow at Broadway Town Cemetery.

BEAR CREEK — Myra Marsh Hall, 53, of 5365 Old U.S. 421 S., died Sunday (11/3/13) at her home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Centennial AME Zion Church in Bear Creek. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Warren Joey Hall; son Jason Marsh; one granddaughter; brother, Calvin Marsh (Barbara); sisters, Evangelist Gwendolyn Siler (Fletcher) and Jackie Marsh; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Knotts & Son Funeral Home in Siler City.

SANFORD — Lawrence James “Red” McLear, 91, died Thursday (9/26/13).

A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen Catholic Church.

He was born in Tupper Lake, N.Y., in 1922, second oldest of seven children. He enlisted in the Marines in 1941 and spent most of his tour in the Philippines as a tail gunner. He was employed as a district sales manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He and his wife returned to Carolina Trace in 1987. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, the Carolina Trace Fire Dept., Meals on Wheels, and Trace events and committees. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; brothers, Edgar, James and Kenneth; sister, Jean Gonyea; and son-in-law, James Villiers.

He is survived by his children, Michael James McLear and wife Donna, Thomas S. McLear and wife Barbara, Jane Lovely and husband Mark, Mary Jo Demick and husband William, Lawrence McLear and wife Mondine, and Ann Volin and husband William, all of Massachusetts, and Carol Villiers of North Carolina; sisters, Barbara LaVallee and Teresa Walker; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

SANFORD — Glyenderleen “Gwen” Pandora Griffin Thomas, 91, died Tuesday (11/5/13) at Liberty Commons of Sanford.

She was born in Nash County on April 17, 1922, to the late Solomon David Griffin and Sallie G. Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Teaco Griffin Pickard, Odez Gaines, Ferice Johnson, Algora Griffin, Kurg Griffin, Diarous “D.D.” Griffin and Solomon David “S.D.” Griffin. She was a member of Rocky Fork Christian Church and was a homemaker. Years ago, she worked at Efirds Department Store.

She is survived by two sons, Dale Thomas and Tim Thomas, both of Sanford; one sister, Clarissa Griffin Johnson of Sanford; and one grandchild.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Buffalo Cemetery with the Rev. Robbie Gibson and Pastor Kevin McHarg officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
