NANCY DAVIS COOPER

SANFORD — Nancy Davis Cooper died Tuesday (8/13/13) at Johnson Better Care Facility in Dunn.

She was born in Lee County, daughter of the late Jess Addison Davis and Gladys Makepeace Byerly.

She is survived by her children, Karol C. Hayes of Apex, Tracey D. Cooper of South America, Bill Cooper Jr., Allison C. Payne and Paul A. Cooper and wife Joelle, all of Sanford; one sister, Grayson D. Alexander and husband Frank of Birmingham, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

LILLINGTON — Gary McNeill, 52, of 1803 Raven Rock Road, died Saturday (8/10/13) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

He is survived by his daughters, Brittany and Jibril of Lillington; his father, Claude W. McNeill of Lillington; three brothers, Dwight (Sharon) of Lillington, Felix (Francine) and Clawson (Diane), all of Sanford; three sisters, Gloria (John) of Broadway, Janet (Lavon) of Bunnlevel and Deborah (Jerry) of Warner Robins, Ga.; a special friend, Latasha White of Lillington; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Knotts Funeral Home Chapel.

BROADWAY — Pastor Bernice Marie Brown, 65, of 2086 Rosser Pittman Road, died Friday (8/9/13).

Funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Rockfish Memorial Park.

Viewing will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the mortuary.

Surviving are daughters, Adia Sanders, Makeba Johnson and Nneka Blue; sisters, Nester McCallum and Josephine Massey-Wright; and four grandchildren.

LILLINGTON — Minister Darryl Lee Gilmore, 49, of 910 Tim Currin Road, died Monday (8/12/13) at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Pentecostal Holy Ministries in Cameron with Minister Kris Firmage officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Renee McKoy Gilmore; children, Darryl Gilmore II (Kimberly) of Houston, Texas, Derek Gilmore of Sanford, Julian Thompson of Greenville, and Jaleel Gilmore and Janae Gilmore, both of the home; mother, Evangelist Odessa Ferguson of Sanford; sister, Elder Shryl Baker (Benjamin) of Sanford; mother-in-law, Cynthia Franklin of the home; father-in-law, Kevin Franklin (Sarah) of Edmond, Okla.; and two grandchildren.

Viewing will be held Friday from noon to 6 p.m. at Dafford Funeral Home of Angier, and also Saturday at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.

SANFORD — Memorial service for Vallie Mae Burns Jenkins, 79, who died Friday (8/2/13), was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rogers Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Paul Backlund.
