SANFORD — Randy Wade Clayton, 59, of Sanford, died Wednesday (10/2/2013) at Central Carolina Hospital.
He was born in Sanford on June 6, 1954 to Henry Durward and Thelmas Louise Clayton.
He is survived by a sister, Kathie E. Hawkins, of Sanford, two nephews and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Henry Donald Clayton.
A visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday at 2161 Cedar Lane Road, home of Inez Butner.

SANFORD — Sandra Kay Smith Hall, 62, of Sanford, died on Thursday (10/3/2013)
A memorial service will be held at Cameron Hill Presbyterian
Church on at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Charles Hickman officiating.
She was a teacher for the Harnett County School Systerm. She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Hall Gilmore, her parents John and Helen Smith, sisters Faye
Smith and Linda Kechick, and brothers Bill and Ray Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Carter Hall, son Michael Carter Hall and wife Sarah, brother Johnny Smith and four grandchildren.

PITTSBORO — Adriane Janel Nettles, 40, of the 300 block of Richardson Road, Pittsboro, died Saturday (10/5/2013) at her residence.
Funeral arrangements are by Knotts Funeral Home, 50 Masonic Street, Pittsboro.


CARTHAGE — Janet Wallace Brewer, 61, died on Friday (10/4/2013) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. William Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Green Wallace and Pauline Hicks Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Wallace.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Arthur Brewer; a daughter, Teresa Ream & husband, Tom of Holly Springs; two sons, Mike Brewer & wife, Lisa of Robbins and David Brewer & wife, Anna Gazda of Atlanta, GA; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 -8:30 p.m. on Saturday at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage.

VASS — Sadie Mashburn Callahan, 91, of Vass, died Friday (10/4/2013) at FirstHealth Hospice House of Pinehurst.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Vass United Methodist
Church with Pastor Phillip Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery.
Callahan was born in Glendon, on Jan. 5, 1922, to Grover Cleveland and Etta Smith Mashburn. She was a long time member of Vass United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three children, Patricia Cameron and husband Charlie of Carolina Beach, Susan Callahan McKinney and husband George of Vass, Eddie Callahan and wife Donna also of Vass, John Green husband of Sylvia; one sister, Ruth Epler and husband Norman of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Cleveland and Etta Smith Mashburn; her husband Henry Edison Callahan; one daughter, Sylvia Callahan Green; four sisters, Lillian Callahan, Georgie Buie, Maude Scott, Callie Frye; two brothers, Pete and Edgar Mashburn.
