DANIEL 'DANNY' FRANCIS JACKSON

SOUTHLAKE - Daniel “Danny” Francis Jackson, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013.

A celebration of life will take place on at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel with burial to follow.

Jackson was born in Roxboro, NC, on Jan. 24, 1945. He spent many years in the financial industry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stonewall and Lorraine Jackson; sister Mary Jo Barton and brother David Jackson.

He is survived by his four daughters, LaVonne Johnson, Mendy Jackson, Dana Althoff and Gwen Jackson; 10 grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Reginald Jackson; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

SAMUEL BARNARD MURCHISON

SANFORD — Samuel Barnard Murchison, 45, of the 700 block of Lawrence Street, Sanford, died Wednesday (6/12/2013) at his residence.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Works For Christ Christian Center, Sanford.

He is survived by: wife, Izora Fields Murchison; mother, Thelma Swann; one son, Samuel Murchison, Jr; two daughters, Burina Murchison and Sandy Murchison; four brothers, James Murchison, Jermaine Murchison, Franklin Quick and Arrick Murchison; one sister, Beverly Daniel and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will be receiving friends and family at 1809 Spring Lane, Sanford, NC.

RONALD TERRY PENNY

SANFORD — Ronald Terry Penny, 71, died Friday (6/14/2013) at his home.

He was born in Harnett County, NC. He was a military veteran and a retired attorney.

Surviving relatives are two sons; Grant Penny and wife Carly of Asheville and Nathan R. Penny of Charlotte, and a sister Anita Griffin of California.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday. The family will receive friends following the service.

ROBERT 'BOB' CRIGLER

SANFORD — Robert “Bob” Crigler, of Sanford, died Tuesday (6/11/2013)

He is survived by his wife Billie and two sons, Steven and J.R., and other family members.

There will be a memorial service on at 11 a.m. June 22, 2013 at Cameron Presbyterian Church.

DAYTON STEADMAN HOLDER

CAMERON — Dayton Steadman Holder, 81, of Cameron, died Friday (6/14/2013) at Siler City Center in Siler City.

Holder was born on April 24, 1932, to the late Frank Carl Matthews and Evie Lee Holder Matthews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Edward Matthews and Luther Holder.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gail Murphy Cameron Holder of the home; step-son, Keith Cameron of Cameron, N.C.; step-daughter, Doris McLaughlin and husband Vernon of Covington, Va.; brothers, Floyd Matthews and wife Maybelle of Cameron, and Gary C. Holder and wife Marcia of Spring Lake; a sister, Dorothy M. Holder and husband Edgar of Lillington; and one granddaughter.

The family received friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Saturday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gourd Springs Baptist Church in Spring Lake.

CLEM O'QUINN TILTON

ABERDEEN — Clem O’Quinn Tilton, 71, of Aberdeen died Thursday (6/13/2013) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A home-going celebration will be held on at 11 a.m. Monday at Aberdeen Pentecostal Holiness Church in Aberdeen with Pastor Horace Warwick officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery.

Tilton was born in Andrews, SC, on Aug. 21, 1941, to Robert (Bob) and Betty Cox Tilton. He worked with the forestry.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lambert Tilton; three children, Kim Peggy Wilson and husband Robert of Michigan, Dexter Williams Tilton and wife Jennifer of Aberdeen, Amanda Ellen Crabtree of Raeford; six sisters, Orabee Moon, Bertha Hemmingway, Patricia Logan, Mildred Simmons, Betty Broughn and Cornelia Broadway all of South Carolina; one brother, Patrick Tilton of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Betty Cox Tilton; three sister, Madee Hazelton, Nora Logan, Adele Broadway; three brothers, Parkley Tilton, Loyis Tilton, Eugene Tilton.

A visitation will be held at from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at his home, 711 Tee Jay Farm Road in Aberdeen.

MARGARET ALLENE JUSTICE BROOKS

WILMINGTON — Margaret Allene Justice Brooks, 95, of Wilmington, formerly of Siler City died Monday (6/10/2013) at Britthaven North Chase, Wilmington.

Brooks was born December 9, 1917, the daughter of Pearle and Pearl (Tysor) Justice.

She is survived by one daughter: Faye B. Kelley of Sanford, and two sons: Joseph E. Brooks and wife, Suzy of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Wayne Brooks of Siler City,; one sister: Irma Langkamp and husband, Don of Springfield, Va..

A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Rives Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, Siler City, with the Rev. Tripp Foltz officiating.  Jessica Rathy, great-granddaughter, played Amazing Grace on the clarinet.  Serving as pallbearers were Terrell Brooks, Roger Brooks, Richard Brooks, Buddy Lemons, Larry Lemons and David Rathy.
