JAMIE LLOYD WILLIAMS

SANFORD — Mr. Jamie Lloyd Williams, 33, of Sanford, NC died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at his residence.

He was born in Sanford, Lee County, NC on July 28, 1979: a son of Ricky Lloyd and Paula Groth Williams.

Mr. Williams was a loving husband and father. He was artistic and had a real passion for music. Jamie was a loyal friend, and was loved by all who knew him.

Surviving are his wife, Rachael Anne Tilley Williams of the home; a son, Aden Gray Williams, of the home; his parents, Ricky Lloyd Williams and Paula Groth Williams of Broadway; a sister and her husband, Shawna W. Blegen and Luke, of Greensboro; paternal grandparents, Doris and Ronald Reeves of Broadway, Bobbie Jo Williams of Swann Station, NC; mother-in-law, Pat Newsome of Sanford, father-in-law, Russell Tilley of Pittsboro, NC; a sister-in-law and her husband, Charlotte and Brad Beck of Sanford; and four nieces and three nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from the Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aden Gray Williams Trust Fund, c/o VantageSouth, 870 Spring Ln., Sanford, NC 27330.

NAOMI JACKSON GOINS

DURHAM — Mr. & Mrs. James T. Goins, of 5905 Granite Place in Durham, died this week. James T. Goins, 67, died Thuesday (1/22/13)  at the Durham VA Hospital, and Naomi Jackson Goins, 64, died Thursday (1/24/13) at Duke Medical Center in Durham.

A double funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 2608 Apex Road (Hwy 55), Durham, by Rev. William Daye. Interment will follow at Markham Memorial Cemetery in Durham.

The couple is survived by two sons, Eric and Randy Goins; one daughter, Kathy Goins; and seven grandchildren.

James is survived by one sister, Almeta Tony Jordan of Durham; and two brothers, Paul Goins of Sanford and David Goins of West End.

Naomi is survived by three sisters, Delois Carter of Hartford, Conn., Agnes Moore of Enfield, Conn., and Theresa J. Blue (husabnd Josiah) of Fayetteville; two brothers, James Carver Jackson (wife Maria) of Washington, D.C., and Kenneth Jackson (wife Mary) of Temple Hill, Md.

Viewings will be Friday from 1-7 p.m. and Saturday from 8-11 a.m.

ALMA ARNETTIE FAULK

VASS — Alma Arnettie Faulk, 80, of 332 Oak Grove Road in Vass, died Thursday (1/24/13) at Pinehurst Health and Rehabilitation.

She is survived by her half siblings, Mozella Graham of Cameron and Charles McLeod of Southern Pines; and a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oakridge AME Zion Church in Vass. Wake will be 6-7 p.m. Saturday (1/26/13) at Knotts Funeral Home in Sanford. Burial will be at Fryes Chapel Cemetery.

REBECCA BRYANT MANESS

BUIES CREEK — Rebecca Bryant Maness, 89, of Buies Creek, died Thursday (1/24/13) at Harnett Woods Nursing Home and Rehab.  

She was born in Montgomery County to the late Neill and Maggie Maness.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise West and Frances Maness; and one brother, Wade Maness.

She served as dean of women at Campbell University and also worked as director of Christian education at Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford. She retired as a home bound teacher for Harnett County Schools. 

She is survived by three sisters, Edna Earle Maness of Buies Creek, Irene Maness Williamson of Clinton and Nell Maness Butler of Rose Hill; and several nieces and nephews.  

The family received friends at her home from 6-8 p.m. Friday (1/25/13). A celebration of her life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday (1/26/13) at Memorial Baptist Church, with Dr. David Whiteman and Dr. John Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Memorial Baptist Church, 271 Leslie Campbell Ave., Buies Creek, NC 27506; or an organization of the donor's choice.

RANDY SCOTT WIMBERLY

ANGIER – Randy Scott Wimberly, 46, died Saturday (1/19/13) at his mother’s residence.  He was born in Erwin on Jan. 22, 1966, to Harold Wimberley and Snowdrop Crowder.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Wimberley, and sister, Brenda Wimberley.

He is survived by his three children, Joshua Wimberly, Faith Wimberly and Landen Wimberly, of Mobile, Ala.; his mother, Snowdrop Crowder, and his stepfather, Dale Crowder, of Angier; one brother, Larry Wimberley (wife Rose Marie) of Sanford; one sister, Connie Sheorn (husband Steve) of Lugoff, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a carpenter and an avid NASCAR fan. Memorials may be made to Kennebec Baptist Church in Angier.

BESSIE ELIZABETH PAGE

LILLINGTON — Bessie Elizabeth Page, 86 of Lillington, died Thursday (1/24/13) at Cornerstone Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Dunn. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Jessie Mack and Janie Gilchrist Page.

Page was preceded in death by her siblings, Oner Lloyd, Oris Page, Zerla Barton, Thurman Page, Mattie Johnson and Delbert Page.

She is survived by her sister Gertrude Hughes, of Tampa, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cool Springs UMC Church in Broadway with Rev. Ramon Atkins oficiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a visitation from just before the funeral, starting at 2 p.m. at the church.

JESSIE WADDELL WINSTEAD

CAMERON — Jessie Waddell Winstead, 88, of Sanford, died Friday (1/25/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 2, 1924, in Harnett County to the late Alexander Waddell and Ruberta Cameron Waddell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Evander C. Winstead; brothers, Bailey Waddell, Walter Waddell, Theodore “Ted” Waddell and John Waddell; and sisters, Alice Garner and Lilla Blue.

She was a graduate of Benhaven High School and was a member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church. She was co-owner and operator with her husband of Winstead’s Grocery from 1945 to 1973.

Mrs. Winstead is survived by three sister-in-laws, Myrtle Waddell of Sanford, Doris Waddell of Concord, and Louise Waddell of Sanford.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Buffalo Cemetery with Rev. Gilbert McDowell officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the graveside service.
