RUTH WICKER TROGDON
SANFORD — Mrs. Ruth Wicker Trogdon, age 72, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Sanford, N.C., died Friday, November 30, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Lee County, N.C. on August 19, 1940 to the late Ida Luvenia Wicker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne Trogdon; sister, Ruby Wicker Wilkerson; and niece, Sheila Wilkerson. Ruth retired after 30 plus years as an accountant at Sandhills Community College. Following her and her late husband's retirement eight years ago they moved to Myrtle Beach, S.C.
She is survived by two sons, Rodney Trogdon and wife Lynn of Fuquay-Varina, Jeff Trogdon and wife Linda of New Hill; two grandchildren, Jill Trogdon and Carly Trogdon both of Sanford; niece, Koren Bickley and husband David of Florida and their children, Spencer and Seth.
The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service in the fellowship hall of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
The funeral will be Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Ira Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

ELIZABETH DRIGGERS FOWLER RESSLER (pic)
SANFORD — Elizabeth Driggers Fowler Ressler, age 68, of Sanford died on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Elizabeth was born on July 6, 1944 in Cumberland County, NC to Leon Prentice Driggers and Evelyn Chomo Driggers Bradsher. She was previously employed by Federal Spinning. Elizabeth was an avid Carolina sports fan and she loved country music. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Fowler and a grandson, Christopher Fowler.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Kenneth John Ressler; a son, James Fowler; a sister, Audrey Driggers Fallin; a brother, Leon (Buddy) Driggers; a half -brother, Johnny Joe Driggers; three grandchildren: Tiffany Fowler, Dana Fowler, and James Fowler II; a step-grandson, Billy Phillips; five great-grandchildren, and two step-great grandchildren: Courtney Phillips and Billy Phillips III.
A memorial service was held at Miller-Boles Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at 3 p.m. with Pastor Ray Bodin officiating. Four special songs were played. Following the service, the family greeted friends in the Chapel foyer. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

SANFORD — John A. Register, of Fernandina Beach, Fla., died Monday (11/19/12).

At the time of his death, he was a resident of Sanford.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy F. Register; his daughter, Sandra Register Wood; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

EDNA MORRIS ROSSER

SANFORD — Funeral service for Edna Morris Rosser, 82, who died Monday (11/26/12), was conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Crossroads Ministries in Broadway with Pastor John Sauls, the Rev. Steve Rosser and the Rev. Jimmy Lewis Rosser officiating. Burial followed at Shallow Well Church Cemetery.

Recorded music was played. Soloist were Gerri Ellis and Scott Partington.

Active pallbearers were Brandon Duty, James Tucker, Larry Morris, Percy Coleman, Jordan Leggette and Kim Tucker. Honorary pallbearers were Danny McLeod and Tim Sloan.

CLIFFORD H. MARTIN

SILER CITY — Clifford H. Martin Sr. of 954 Martin Road, died Saturday (12/1/12) at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

He was an auto mechanic.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rocky River Baptist Church in Siler City. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Ella A. Martin; son, Clifford Martin Jr. (Felecia) of Siler City; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Headen and Alene Hatley (William) both of Siler City; and one brother, James T. Martin (Rev. Ceola) of Siler City.

DORIS EDNA MCIVER MCKENZIE

SANFORD — Funeral service for Doris Edna McIver McKenzie, 84, who died Sunday (11/25/12), was held at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul AME Zion Church with the Rev. Edward Spencer officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.

Soloist was Melissa McKenzie Alston.

Pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons.

PITTSBORO — George E. Lampton, 48, of 164 Erie Lynn Road, died Saturday (12/1/12) at Siler City Care and Rehabilitation. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Knotts Funeral Home.

SANFORD — Clyde Thompson Sr., 83, of 365 Clarence McKeithen Road, died Thursday (11/29/12) at his home.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Willie Mae Thompson; five children, Gloria Martin (Alexander) of Sanford, Clyde Thompson Jr. of the home, Carolyn Cheek (Ivon) of Gulf, Larry Thompson (Sandra) of Goldston, and Richard Thompson of Durham; two sisters, Katherine Austin of Spring Valley, N.Y., and Mary McCants of Gulf; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; one aunt; three brothers-in-law and seven sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Macedonia A.M.E. Zion Church in Gulf. Burial will be at Lee Memory Gardens.

LUCY MOOREFIELD MAWYER

SOUTHERN PINES — Lucy Moorefield Mawyer, 78, died Saturday (12/1/12) at her home.

Services will be held at a later date in Lovingston, Va.

Born Sept. 27, 1934 in Farmville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mattie Moorefield. She was a radiation technician at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Va., for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Ryland.

She is survived by her son, Tony Mawyer and wife Joni of Whispering Pines; and one grandson.
