SANFORD — Janet Derosby, 48, died Wednesday (7/17/13) at her residence. Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by Miller-Boles Funeral Service.
SILER CITY — Maxine Bowden, 96, of 1315 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., died Thursday (7/11/13) at Genesis Health Care in Siler City.
She was a member of Corinth AME Zion Church.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Corinth AME Zion Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by her children, Gwennette Johnson, Vernell Wright (Thomas) and Mildred Stokes (Leslie); brothers, Enos Graves (Joyce) and Alford Graves Sr.; daughters-in-law, Eleanor Siler and Flora S. Weaver; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

ARACELI PEREZ MARQUEZ
LILLINGTON — Araceli Perez Marquez, 45, died Monday (7/15/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.
She was born in Texococ Tetlatlahuca Flaxcala, Mexico, on Feb. 7, 1968, daughter of the late Eulalio Marquez and Candida Perez.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Saint Stephens Catholic Church with Father Robert Ippolito officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Reynaldo Lucas Romero; daughter, Jovanna Romero Marquez of Sanford; son, Octavio Romero Marquez of Broadway; sister, Letticia Perez Marquez of Mexico; brother, Zenovo Marquez Perez of Mexico and one granddaughter.
The family will receive friends at the family home today at 374 Dean Road, Lillington, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE — Moses Mathis, “The Bicycle Man”, 76, of 624 Platinum St., died Monday (7/15/13) at home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be handled by Cunningham & Sons Mortuary Inc. of Fayetteville. Announced locally by Watson Memorial-Cunningham & Son Mortuary.
PITTSBORO — William DeHart, of Fearrington Village in Chatham County, died Monday (7/15/13) in Oriental, N.C.
He was born to James and Lois Guffy DeHart in Durham, and grew up in Winston-Salem. In 1953, he was commissioned an Ensign at the U.S. Naval Academy, and subsequently served as a naval officer for 24 years.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Roberts DeHart; sons, Peyton (Jane) of Chapel Hill and William Jr. (Vickie) of Raleigh; a daughter, Sara Young (Scott) of Greensboro; sister, Jean DeHart Spach of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, July 23, at 1 p.m. at Church of the Holy Family Episcopal in Chapel Hill with reception to follow. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date at a family plot in Concord.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial to Church of the Holy Family or a charity of one’s choice.

THOMAS WATTS CAMPBELL JR.
SANFORD — Thomas Watts “T.W.” Campbell Jr., 81, died Tuesday (7/16/13) at his home.
He was born in Moore County on April 1, 1932, to the late Thomas Watts Campbell and Flora Dula Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Watts Campbell III, and sisters Marguerite Campbell Nagy and Gwyn Campbell Dixon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from civil service as chief of metrology (the science of weights and measures). He was a member of Barbecue Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Sullivan Campbell; daughters, Ethel Campbell of Pittsboro, Gloria Radkiewicz of Aberdeen, Md., April Annette Mason of Sanford, and René Oakman and husband Jason; sisters, Theresa Campbell Cocolin of Sanford and Billie Campbell Hickox and husband David of Callahan, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at Barbecue Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Sandy Williams presiding. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

IRENE HOOK COVINGTON
SANFORD — Funeral service for Irene Hook Covington, 93, who died Sunday (7/14/13), was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Jonesboro United Methodist Church by the Rev. Hunter Preston. Burial followed at Jonesboro Cemetery.
During the service, the congregation sang. Organist/pianist was Dr. Daniel Hester. The eulogy was delivered by Al Covington.
Pallbearers were Al Covington, Don Covington, Bob Covington, Frank Covington, Ray Covington and Brannon Dickens.
