SANFORD — Wilma Lee Allen, 61, of Sanford, died Monday, July 22, 2013 at Central Carolina Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rogers Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was born in Lee County to Viola Gunter Donithan and the late Charles Donithan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Allen; and a sister, Betty McDowell.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Allen is survived by a daughter, Tonya Allen of Sanford; a son, Tim Allen and wife Nicole of Sanford; a sister, Mary Batten of Goldston; four grandchildren, Montgomery Allen, Harper Lee Allen, Zachary Girard and Angel Whitley.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home and other times at 1516 Westfall Circle.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Marie Lloyd Harper, 74, who died Wednesday (7/17/13), was held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Wood and the Rev. Gilbert W. McDowell officiating. Burial followed at Jonesboro Cemetery.

Soloist Lori Caudle and Dave Cyphert sang. The congregation sang with pianist Kimberly Davidson.

Pallbearers were Amos Oldham, Winston Lloyd, Michael Spears, Kevin Gardner, Jacob Harper and Daniel Robinson.

LILLINGTON — Cathryn T. “Big Mama” McRae, 102, died Saturday (7/20/13).

A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Judge Floyd Herbert and Cornelia Stewart Taylor and was preceded in death by her husband, Dougald McRae; son, David F. McRae Sr.; five brothers and four sisters. She was an active and the oldest member of Summerville Presbyterian Church and was honored with the Presbyterian Women Lifetime Membership. Until the age of 85, she worked coordinating the Meals on Wheels Volunteer Program for Harnett County.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Summerville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William E. Pauley and the Rev. Thomas K. Spence officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at her home.

She is survived by her daughters, Pat Heikkinen, Helen Parker and Anne Saunders, all of Lillington; daughter-in-law, Betty McRae Pauley of Lillington; sister, Carro Orr of Charlotte; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

CAMERON — Todd Allen McQuinn, 20, died Monday (7/15/13).

He was born Aug. 14, 1992 in Ashland, Ky. He was preceded in death by his father, Brian McQuinn, and grandfather, Harry McQuinn.

He is survived by his mother, Leigh Price and her husband Michael of Cameron; birthmother, Angi Keener and her husband Todd of West Virginia; sister, Taleah McQuinn of Sanford; sister, Kodi Keener of West Virginia; stepsisters, Amber and Taylor Price of Cameron; brother, Johnathan Price of Cameron; grandmother, Sue McQuinn of Kentucky; and grandparents, John and Sandra McDaniel of West Virginia.

A memorial visitation will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. Saturday at Lafayette Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Linwood Stanfield Mann Sr., 85, who died Thursday (7/18/13), was conducted Sunday at Jonesboro United Methodist Church with Pastor Hunter Preston and Dr. Rudy Holland officiating. Burial followed at Jonesboro Cemetery.

The congregation sang three selections. Tom Hamilton was soloist. Several people spoke remembrances.

Pallbearers were Linwood “Lin” Stanfield Mann III, Rev. Joe Mann, Alan Porter, Tommy Mann, Patrick Mann and Gary Carter.

CARTHAGE — Daniel Carl “Dan” Dunlap, 86, died Sunday (7/21/13) at his home.

Funeral service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Glendon Independent Christian Church with the Rev. Joe Johnson and the Rev. Bill Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

He was a Moore County native, and had spent his life farming. He was a member of Glendon Independent Christian Church where he served as Deacon.

He is survived by daughters, Sara Nell Dunlap Dull of Whispering Pines and Iris Dunlap Davis and husband Gregg of Whispering Pines; sons, William Dunlap and wife Jan of Robbins, Rex Dunlap and wife Laura of Putnam, and Tim Dunlap and wife Vicki of Carthage; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Lynnie Dunlap Comer of Star.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Victor Glendon Johnson was held Sunday at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Houston Blair Jr. presiding. Special music was sung by Linda Hunt and Fran Thomas accompanied by Leonard Harris on the piano.

Pallbearers were Darren Brown, Ernest Marks, Matthew McNickle, Brian Pilkington, Ron Thomas and Randy Wilkins.

Honorary pallbearers were the boys of Deep River School Class of 1960.

Following the funeral, a graveside service was held at the Jones Chapel cemetery.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Janet Elizabeth Derosby was held Saturday at Miller-Boles Chapel with Pastor Bill Maye and Pastor Jonathan Jerkins officiating. Special songs were played during the service with remembrances by family members.

A private interment will follow.
