COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR WADE FRANK JONES
SANFORD — Retired CSM Wade Frank Jones died Sunday (10/13/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.
He was born to the late Ervin and Lizzie Mae Jones. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He was a member of Johnsonville A.M.E. Zion Church. He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jennett; one daughter, Dianna Jones Sumter (Ira) of Hopkins, S.C.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earlie Dee (Pearlie Mae) and Gene Jones (Ola Mae); one adopted brother, Eddie Jones; one sister-in-law, Janice Oliver (Mac); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Johnsonville A.M.E. Zion Church in Cameron with the Rev. Dr. Thurman McGougan officiating.

ANNIE LYNN GUNTER SESSOMS
SANFORD — Funeral service for Annie Lynn Gunter Sessoms of Hubert, formerly of Sanford, who died Thursday (10/10/13), was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor David Kimbrell. Burial followed at Lee Memory Gardens.
During the service, words of remembrance were by sons Perry and Harry Sessoms. Soloists were grandsons Elvis Schreckengost and Brad Sessoms, and recorded music was played.
Pallbearers were Ervin Garret, Edwin Riddle, Tommy Poindexter and Ralph Hall.

PITTSBORO — Funeral service for Cleatis Marsh, 84, who died Saturday (10/12/13), was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church in Pittsboro with the Rev. Anthony Davis officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
The Mitchell Chapel Male Chorus sang. Soloists were Naomi McCrimmon and Zoretta French.
Pallbearers were nephews and friends of the family.

LOUISE SIMMONS MURRAY
LILLINGTON — Louise Simmons Murray, 86, died Tuesday (10/15/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.
She was born Dec. 10, 1926 in Harnett County to the late Beulah and William Simmons. She was a member of Lillington Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Murray, and her three brothers, Lamar, Ernest and W.T. Simmons.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Currin and husband Sherman of Raleigh and Brenda Langdon and husband Rupert of Lillington; her sister, Bertha Bradley of Lillington; three grandsons and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home in Lillington.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Lillington Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Roberts and the Rev. Dr. Bill Goodnight officiating. Burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park.

SANFORD — Lewis E. Covington, 57, of 395 East Forest Oaks Drive, died Monday (10/14/13) at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Marsh Covington; six stepchildren, Takosha, David and Quentin Marsh of Baltimore, Md., Erica and Alexis Marsh of Sanford, and Ashley Ellerba of the home; mother-in-law, Brenda Brooks; three sisters, Carrie Johnson (Odell) of Fayetteville, and Carol Little and Linda Rice (Kenny), all of High Point; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ward Memorial Church.
