BOBBY LEWIS SAUNDERS
FAYETTEVILLE — Bobby Lewis Saunders, 69, of 6334 Greycliff Drive, formerly of Harnett County, died Sunday (4/14/13) at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was son of the late Lacy Mayfield and Maggie Brown Saunders, and was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Cameron, and two brothers, Marvin and Rayvon Saunders.
He was educated in the Harnett County School System and graduated from Johnsonville High School. He attended Fayetteville State University and Bible College, Gainesville, Ga. He was a member of Bethlehem AME Zion Church and also a member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge #217 in Lillington. He retired from the U.S. Army with 22 plus years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Cox Saunders; one daughter, Christina Yvonne Johnson; four sons, Maurice Ramon Saunders, Rafael Marcel Saunders, Bobby Lewis Saunders Jr., and Sean Noah Cox Saunders; two brothers, Glenn E. Saunders and Lacy M. Saunders; father-in-law, John Cox; one brother-in-law, Oscar Cameron; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cape Fear Conference A in Erwin. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Sandhills Cemetery in Spring Lake.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cape Fear Youth Basketball Association in honor of Bobby Sounders Sr., c/o Greg Weaver, 2113 NC55 West, Coats, N.C. 27521.

EDWIN MONROE MANNING
SANFORD — Edwin Monroe Manning, 80, died Friday (4/19/13) at his home.
He was born in Harnett County, son of the late Kirby Manning and Jewel Holley Manning. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was retired from GKN Automotive.
Graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Shallow Well United Church of Christ cemetery with the Rev. Donald Thompson and the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Darnell Manning; sons, Douglas Edwin Manning of the home and Darrell Monroe Manning and wife Bobby Jo of Gillsville, Ga.; sister, Doris Koloup and husband Calvin of Eustis, Fla.; brothers, John Manning and wife Betty of Vanceboro, Noah Manning and wife Barbara of Thomasville, and Charles Manning and wife Betty of Coats; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Shallow Well United Church of Christ and other times at the family home on Avents Ferry Road.

SILER CITY — James McSwain, 55, died Wednesday (4/17/13) at Duke Home Care & Hospice of Durham.
He worked at Carolina Poultry for over 28 years.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Jordan Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Siler City. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. No wake will be held.
He is survived by his mother, Evelyn McSwain of Siler City; brother, Kenneth McSwain (Stella) of Siler City; and a host of other relatives.

BESHEBA TAYLOR MORALES
SILER CITY — Besheba Taylor Morales died Monday (4/15/13).
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harris Grove Baptist Church in Siler City with the Rev. David Scotton officiating. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Park. No wake will be held.
She is survived by her husband, Javier Morales; children, April Taylor, Emalda Taylor, Shaniel Taylor and Jose Perea; mother, Corine Alston Taylor; sister, Devoyer Alston; and nine grandchildren.
