PHILLIP RAY SMITH

CARTHAGE — Phillip Ray Smith, 41, died Thursday (11/29/12) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

A native of Moore County, he was the youngest son of Johnny A. Smith and Marcia Hardy Pressley. He was a graduate of Union Pines High School and was employed as an electrician with Pinehurst Resort.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly Marsh Smith; two sons, Nolan Smith and Parker Smith of the home; a sister, Rebecca S. Brown of Carthage; and two brothers, Rodney Smith of Cameron and Brent Smith of Carthage.

VIRGINIA MARIE SEXTON

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. — Virginia Marie Sexton died Sunday (11/25/12).

She was born on Feb. 26, 1931, in Appalachia, Va. She graduated from Benhaven High School in 1950. She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Sexton Taylor, and brother, Berthal Sexton.

She is survived by her brother, Kyle Sexton, and his wife, Louise; and many other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Florida Memorial Funeral Home in Rockledge, Fla.

 

BERNARD SAMUEL MCINTYRE

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bernard Samuel “Sam” McIntyre, 75, died Sunday (11/25/12) at Washington Adventist Hospital, Md.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary Frances Richardson; five sisters, Dorothy Graham, Bennie Mae Yeargin, Annie Brewington, Mary Blackmon and Nancy Ford; one brother, Curtis McIntyre; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Rowland. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Saturday at noon at the church.

FAYE D. MCDONALD

BEAR CREEK — Faye D. McDonald, 72, died Sunday (11/25/12) at Central Carolina Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Bear Creek.

She is survived by her children, the Rev. Joseph Marsh (Zalphia) of Siler City, Roger Marsh (Beverly) of Asheboro, Minister Phyllis Mitchell (Keith) of Sanford, the Rev. Sylvia Degraffenreidt of Siler City, Dwayne Marsh of Bear Creek and Tasha McDonald of Sanford; two sisters, Clara Glover of Siler City and Doretha Alston of Goldston; 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

PITTSBORO — Daniel Blanchette, 46, died Tuesday (11/27/12) at his residence.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsboro with family to receive friends after the service.
