PEGGY LOU KIMBALL PRINCE
VASS — Peggy Lou Kimball Prince, 72, died Wednesday (2/20/13) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
She was born in Moore County on Oct. 28, 1940, to the late William James Kimball and Margaret Crabtree Kimball Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Prince Sr., and a son, Tony Kevin Prince.
She is survived by one son, Charles Ray Prince Jr. of Sanford; two daughters, Cherrie Prince Oldham and husband Wade of Bear Creek and Sonya Prince Potter and husband Alan of Carthage; one brother, William Hurbert Kimball of Vass; one sister, Rebecca Carrington of Southern Pines; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Sonya and Alan Potter, 140 Peterbilt Drive, Carthage.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Johnson Grove Cemetery with Pastor John Brown and Pastor Paul McClure officiating.

MARY PRIVOTT RAY
LILLINGTON — Mary Privott Ray, 91, died Wednesday (2/20/13) at WakeMed Raleigh.
She was born on May 24, 1921, in Edenton to the late Charles Daniel and Mary Harrell Privott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Ray; and two sons, Charles C. Ray Jr. and Mike Ray.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Leaflet Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at O’Quinn Peebles Funeral Home.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Grace Mason (Terrence) of Concord; a son, Duncan B. Ray (Mary) of Raleigh; daughter-in-law, Elke Ray of Columbus, Ga.; two sisters, Anna Privott and Grace Privott Blanchard of Edenton; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

GRISSELLA MCCORMICK JONES
BROADWAY — Funeral service for Grissella McCormick Jones, 94, who died Sunday (2/17/13), was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway United Methodist Church with the Rev. J.H. Daniels and the Rev. Sandy Williams officiating. Burial followed at the Broadway Town Cemetery.
Gene McNeill was the soloist and Jimmy Jones was organist. Bagpiper at the graveside was Peter McArthur.
Pallbearers were Johnny Hinkle, Paul Hinkle Jr., Jimmy McCormick, Randall McCormick, Jerry McNeill and Ronnie McNeill.
Arrangements were by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
CARTHAGE — Robert Frye, 69, died Thursday (2/21/13) at his residence. Arrangments are incomplete and will be announced by Pugh & Smith Funeral Home of Carthage.

SANFORD — Funeral service for Janie Shue Tolman Gunter, 80, of Fayetteville, formerly of Sanford, who died Saturday (2/16/13), was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rogers Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Scott Yow. Burial followed at Miracle Baptist Church Cemetery.
During the service, the trio of the Gregory Singers sang.
Pallbearers were Billy Maddox, Tommy Maddox Sr., Paul Medlin, Waylon Sauls, David Tolman and Lee Underwood Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Maddox Jr. and William Maddox.

She is survived by husband, Billy F. Armstrong; adopted mother, Esther M. Newby; one son, Robert Kelly; one brother, Michael Kelly (Mary); two adopted brothers, Shelton Newby (Pamela) and Junior Newby; three sisters, Kathy McKhee, Pamella Cameron and Tamie Martin; and one granddaughter.

SOUTHERN PINES — Joann Hart Woodcock died Tuesday (2/19/13) at Randolph Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pinebluff Cemetery with the Rev. Don Ballenger officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Woodcock Jr.; and her parents, Leon and Nancy Hart.
She is survived by four daughters, Joann Marie Hoffarth and husband Anthony of Pinebluff, Nancy Merkle and husband Jimmy of Michigan, Donna Neely and husband Dan of Carthage, and Loreen Lamb and husband John of New York; one son, John Quagliotti of Seagrove; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, William Pruette (Gerry) of Jacksonville; and a sister, Elsie Shaw (Luck) of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Powell Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
