TIMOTHY CARTER WALKER

SOUTHERN PINES — Timothy Carter Walker, 48, died Wednesday (2/20/13) at his residence.

He was born March 14, 1964 in Charlotte. He graduated from Union Pines High School in 1982.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jane Carter Hodge and William Mills Hodge of Seven Lakes; father, Thomas Bederry Walker of Pinehurst; and one brother, Thomas Walker.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Culdee Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Washburn officiating. Burial will follow at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

ROBERT DYCUS

SANFORD — Robert Dycus, 83, died Thursday (2/21/13) at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Lee County on Dec. 5, 1929, to the late John Robert Dycus and Cora Hancock Dycus. He was a tobacco farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Smith Dycus; three sons, Charles Dycus and wife Amy, and David Dycus and wife Missy, all of Sanford, and John Dycus and wife Laureen of Glen Allen, Va.; one daughter, Robin Dycus Grannis and husband Reggie of Pittsboro; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Center United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chris Humphreys officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

DORIS LUCILLE WELTY WEST THOMAS

SANFORD — Doris Lucille Welty West Thomas, 89, died Friday (2/22/13) at her home.

She was born in Chugwater, Wy., on Feb. 10, 1924, to the late Ross Jacob Welty and Frances Elizabeth Dudrean Welty. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee Thomas; and brother, Kenneth Welty and his wife Velma. She served in the U.S. Naval Service and worked for Roberts Company and retired from Blue Bell. She was a member of Moore Union Christian Church and was very active in the 4-H Club in Wyoming where she raised lambs.

She is survived by her sons, Vann West and wife Lenna of Greenville and Bryan Thomas and wife Stacy of Sanford; daughters, Sharon West McDonald and husband Bertice of Sanford and Gay Anderson of Tybee Island, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Moore Union Christian Church with the Rev. David Yarborough officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral (2 to 3 p.m.) at the church.

SANFORD — Georgia Anna McKoy of Harts Road died Thursday (2/21/13) at Central Carolina Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by LHorton Community Funeral Home.

DONALD LEWIS MINKESON

SANFORD — Donald Lewis Minkeson, 73, of 625 Britton Ct., died Thursday (2/21/13) at his residence.

He was the son of the late James Edward Minkeson II and Ethel Sutton Minkeson. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, James Edward III and Joseph.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 2, at 3 p.m. at C.E. Willie Funeral Chapel.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Michelle Minkeson; three sons, Donald Minkeson of Albany, N.Y., Darren Hammer of Clayton and Dwayne Toomer of Smithfield; three daughters, Donya L. Shaw of Richmond, Va., Sonia Dewitt of Albany, N.Y., and Natsha Benten of Queens, N.Y.; brother, Richard Tonnell of Delaware; sisters, Carolyn Troublefield of Westbury, N.Y., and Janet Wise of Hempstead, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
