SANFORD — Memorial service for Betty Roth Wall, 89 of Sanford, who died Tuesday (2/12/13), was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church by Reverend M. Timothy Martin. Assisting Minister was John Southern, and the Crucifer was Joe Dilworth. Burial followed in the Church Columbarium.

During the service, the congregation sang, pianist was Tamara Lewis and soloist was Renate Gibson.

CAMERON — Margie Hellen Fulbright Hancox, 75, of Cameron, died Saturday (2/23/13) at St. Joseph of the Pines.

She was born in Stephens County, Ga., on July 16, 1937, to the late Horace Ray Fulbright and Willie Ruth Craig Fulbright. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Robert Hancox; son, Richard Dwayne Hancox; and two sisters, Grace Jaynes and Carolyn Leopard.

She is survived by two sons, John Hancox and wife Brenda of Olivia, and Tony Hancox and wife Cindy of Troy; four daughters, Ruth Lester and husband Randy of Ikes Fork, W.Va., Diane Godfrey and husband Ned, and Sharon Hancox, all of Cameron, and Julie Woods and husband Dave of Fort Bragg; a brother, Horace Fulbright and wife Katie of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister; Avis Watkins of Browersville, Ga.; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Pastor Tony Hancox, presiding. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral, also at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

BUNNLEVEL —Glenn Marshburn Hamilton, 82, of Bunnlevel, died Friday (2/22/13).

He is the son of the late James Arthur and Minnie Marshburn Hamilton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Hamilton, and a sister, Juanita Marks.

He worked at the N.C. Department of Corrections for 31 years. He was the grounds keeper for Flatbranch Presbyterian Church for several years and a volunteer fireman.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy Smith Hamilton; a daughter, Cheryl Hamilton; a son, James Allen Hamilton and wife Lisa; all of Bunnlevel; a sister, Gertrude Williams of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Flatbranch Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bert Pitchford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at O’Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home, Lillington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Flatbranch Presbyterian Church, 130 Darroch Road, Bunnlevel, N.C. 28323.

BEAR CREEK — Funeral for Mabel Oldham Lemons of Bear Creek, who died Sunday (2/17/13), were held Friday at Antioch Christian Church with the Rev. David Hicks and the Rev. Clark Davis officiating. Burial followed in the Oldham Family Cemetery.

Pianist and soloist Rodney Oldham played and sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Where We Will Never Grow Old.” Pallbearers were, Joel Oldham, Mitchel Dowdy, Thomas Henry Dowdy, Shorty Oldham, Chad Hart and William-Billy Johnson.

VASS — Graveside service for Mrs. Peggy Lou Kimball Prince, 72, who died Wednesday (2/20/13) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, was conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. at Johnson Grove Cemetery with Pastor John Brown and Pastor Paul McClure officiating.

Soloist at the graveside was Cynthia Holder.

PITTSBORO — Stephen Edward Harris, 83, of 81 Charlie Perkins Road in Pittsboro, died Friday (2/22/13) at his residence.

EAST ORANGE, N.J. — Max Edward Chalmers, 72, of 27 N. 17th St., East Orange, N.J., formerly of Sanford, died Sunday (2/17/13) at his home.

Service will be conducted Friday (3/1/13) at Perry Funeral Home, 34 Mercer St., Newark, NJ.

He was the son of the late Thomas and Annie Lee Chalmers. Survivors include one brother, Melvin Chalmers; and one sister, Thelma Harris-Elsawi.
