WILLARD OPERT O'QUINN
CAMERON — Willard Opert O’Quinn, 73, of Cameron, passed away Saturday March 2, 2013 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm Tuesday at Lemon Springs Baptist Church by Pastor Wayne O’Quinn and Pastor Andy Foley. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mr. O’Quinn was born in Harnett Co, a son of the late Willard Herbert O’Quinn and Louise McNeill O’Quinn. Mr. O’Quinn was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Denson O’Quinn, a son, Willard Gerald O’Quinn, and a brother, Larry O’Quinn.
Mr. O’Quinn is survived by two daughters, Sheila O. Godfrey and husband Glenn of Lemon Springs, and Patricia O. Cotten and husband Greg of Sanford; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Joshua Godfrey, Chelsey Smith and Caleb Leslie; one great-grandchild, Alexis Gray; fiancée, Julia Holder of Mamers; sisters, Barbara Coleman of Olivia, Diane Dickens of Mamers, and Cathy Marks of Sanford; brothers, Jerry O’Quinn of Burlington and Ronnie O’Quinn of Sanford.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home and other times at 3122 Lower Moncure Rd., Sanford.

WILLIAM ROBERT ‘BOB’ MOORE
CARTHAGE — William Robert “Bob” Moore, 91, of Carthage, died Saturday (3/2/2013) at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Culdee Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Joseph Washburn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late William L. and Jeanette Black Moore. He was an Army veteran and retired as regional maintenance supervisor for N.C. Department of Correction. After retirement, he worked part-time with Fry and Prickett Funeral Home for several years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Almond Moore; sisters, Doris Moore, Lois McKenzie, Annie Belle Almond and Margaret Ludwig.
He is survived by his daughter, Janie Moore Taylor and husband, Ed, of Carthage; son Robin Moore and wife, Gloria, of West End; and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., and other times at the residence and following the service.

SANFORD — Gracie Cross, 66, of 519 Maple Ave., Sanford, died Friday (3/1/2013) at Central Carolina Hospital.

WILLIAM EARLE PENDERGRASS
SILER CITY — William Earle Pendergrass, 64, of 6433 Siler City-Glendon Road, Siler City, died Friday (3/1/2013) at Laurels Of Chatham, Pittsboro.
He was the son of William and Eppie Hart Pendergrass. He was a native of Chatham County and a member of Providence Independent Methodist Church. He worked for Gaylord Mfg, Stout Furniture and Selig Mfg.
He is survived by his wife: Michelle (Gaines) Pendergrass; daughter: Cynthia P. Mote of Silk Hope; son, Timothy Earle Pendergrass and wife Shelia of Silk Hope; brother, Joe Lynn Pendergrass of Siler City; a grandson; a granddaughter, and other family members.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Providence Independent Church, 905 Providence Independent Church Road, with the funeral service following at 4 p.m. with Rev. Brian Caldwell and Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

GRACE ELOISE BRYANT
MONCURE — Funeral service for Grace Eloise Bryant, 75, of 1817 Gabe Bryant Road, Moncure, who died Feb. 25, was held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mt. View AME Zion Church in Moncure.
The Rev. Laura Headen officiated with interment at Bryant Cemetery in Moncure. Soloist was Madeline Thomas and pallbearers were friends of the family.
Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home.
JOSEPH LEO SILVIS
CARTHAGE — Funeral services for Joseph Leo Silvis, 84, who died Feb. 27, was held at noon Saturday at Miller-Boles Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Campbell officiating.
One special song was played during the service.
Following the funeral, a graveside service was held at the Lee Memory Garden in Sanford.
Arrangements were by Miller-Boles Funeral Home.
NANCY GAIL DOWDY DEAL
SANFORD — Funeral service for Nancy Gail Dowdy Deal, 66, of Sanford, who died Feb. 27, was held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Edgewood Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Hayes officiating.
Burial followed at Lee Memory Gardens.
Pianist was Eugenia Thompson. Organist was Wilson Weathers. Dawn Weathers and Wilson Weathers sang a duet. The Edgewood Presbyterian Choir Ensemble sang and the congregation sang.
Pallbearers were Jeff Douglas, Kevin Smith, Mike Kennedy, Brent Johnson, Chris Womack and Johnny Whiteside.
