LETTER: There is a problem — and solution
To the Editor:
Obamacare — as yet, this new social program has cost $400,000,000 for a website that does not work. It appears the people in charge have not read the law or do not understand it. The next question will be the effect of the “Employer’s Mandate” and who or how it will be paid for if employers opt to cancel employee’s insurance compensation. Who are the hands-on leaders in the government?
There is a problem, and there is a solution. Mitt Romney, George Bush, Bill Clinton, Ronald Regan are not the problem. It is our current executive office, the House of Representatives and the Senate who have the duty and responsibility to lead our country out of this time of blame and complaining. Their self-centered programs are not the solution. Working cooperatively and with consideration might be a step in the right direction.
All of the men in the previous paragraph and almost all Americans respect the man who wrote the following prayer:
“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know your word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God and know our hearts today; cleanse us from sin and set us free. Amen!” — Billy Graham’s Prayer for Our Nation
