LETTER: Choosing life is ‘common sense’

To the Editor:

During the 2012 voting season, the local Democrats asked you to take their “common sense” blue sample ballot to help you choose their “Common Sense” candidates.

Let me comment on their “common sense.” To Democrats, “common sense” means you can kill unborn babies. The “common sense” of pro-choice means the woman chooses to kill her baby. What would the baby choose? What would God choose? Let's take a simple vote, the majority wins. The woman votes kill the baby — one vote to kill baby, zero votes for the baby to live. The baby votes "I want to live." Now the tally is one vote to kill the baby, one vote for life.

Now, let us give God a vote. Which way do you think he would vote? I think he would vote for life. Now, the final vote in the little democracy is one vote to kill the baby, two votes for life. What kind of “common sense” are the Democrats asking you to vote for?

Many Democrats, including President Obama, want to legalize late-term abortions. This means a woman comes into an abortion clinic for a late-term abortion, and the abortion is performed, but the baby is still alive. ... The baby is left ... to die a very painful death. Is this “common sense”?

Instead of going to an abortion clinic, the same woman comes to the hospital to give birth to her baby. When the baby is born, the hospital staff will do everything in their power to keep the baby alive, that's “common sense.”

More than 56 million abortions have been performed in our country since Roe versus Wade was decided on Jan. 22, 1973. We must stop the killing of our most innocent — babies who never had the chance to experience the freedom that each one of us holds so dear.

Every November, we have a choice to choose what kind of “common sense” we want for our country. Please choose responsible candidates, choose “common sense” for life!
