LETTER: Aren't we now 'revenue neutral'?
To the Editor:
Am I missing something? Don't the residents of Sanford pay both county and city property taxes?
As a county resident, the county commissioners are reducing "county taxes" by 3 cents, which would include the city residences. The city would be revenue neutral at 51 cents from recent property revaluations, but has decided to increase taxes by 3 cents to 54 cents. Doesn't this equate to a true "revenue neutral" position?
I'm an Independent, who seems to chuckle at those who look at the glass as half empty.
