LETTER: Photos embodied Latinos' value to local community

Apr. 23, 2014 @ 04:59 AM

To the Editor:

I have never seen such awe-inspiring photographs as those of the Via Crucis on the front and back of the A section of The Sanford Herald in the Saturday edition. We should all thank Mr. Wesley Beeson for his insightful accomplishments.

All of this confirms my whole-hearted acceptance of Latinos as an integral part of this community. Their dedication and devotion to their faith, and contributions of service, diligence and hard work, should be an inspiration to us all — not just locally, but increasingly on the national stage.

One of my closest friends is Mr. Oscar Montes, the most generous, empathetic, giving and unselfish person I have ever known.
