LETTER: Orphan puppy finds a home

Apr. 17, 2014 @ 04:58 AM

To the Editor:

My niece and nephew have a farm near “Little Paw Paw Lake” in Michigan. They found this orphan puppy one night, and it was love at first sight.

This is the puppy’s story.

It’s no fun being an orphan, with no mom to teach you right from wrong and no dad to look up to or follow around. It’s cold out here, and I’m all alone. I’m going to this farm house, and maybe I will get a free meal or find some food that I can steal.

They took me into their home and hearts, gave me food and a warm bed; for sure if they hadn’t, I would be dead. My coat is grey. I have a pink nose. How that happened, no one knows. Dad goes to work. There is just mom and me. I’m as happy as happy can be. We live near “Little Paw Paw Lake,” and mom and dad just named me “Jake.”

This is a true story. I just had to think like an orphan puppy.
