LETTER: Moving bond vote means fewer voices will be heard
To the Editor:
Samuel Gaskins's attempt to move the $14.5 million bond referendum from the November election to the September primary is a blatant attempt to con the people of Sanford. General elections always have a larger turnout than primaries. By shifting this important issue to the primary, he is trying to ensure that a smaller group of activist voters can usurp the will of the majority.
The good, hard-working taxpayers of Sanford deserve the opportunity to have their voices heard during the general election when the maximum number turns out!
