LETTER: It's back to the 'good old days'

To the Editor:

The N.C. legislature's farcical bills only put restrictions on poor women. Rich legislators' daughters and girlfriends will still be able to obtain abortions on demand as has always been the case.

Increases in sales tax disproportionately affect the poor, as a higher portion of their income is used for necessities like food, housing and transportation.

There has been little to no evidence of "voter fraud" perpetrated by individuals voting with false or no identification. (That would be like a counterfeiter printing $1 bills!?) So eliminating early voting and requiring N.C. ID for voters will mostly impact those who are too poor to get ready access/transportation to ID facilities.

So basically it's back to the good old days of patriarchal patrician politics just like 1850.
