LETTER: Little is known about Obama's background
To the Editor:
Mr. Bryan Littleton's Feb. 12 letter to the editor suggest that he may have landed on earth within the last week.
In the letter, Mr. Littleton tells us that President Barack Hussein Obama “…holds a juris doctorate in constitutional law from Harvard Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1991.” This is news to those that have tried to determine the background of this president.
I hope that Mr. Littleton has notified Donald Trump of his findings. Last fall, Mr Trump offered $5 million to see Obama’s college transcripts and passport application.
In fact, other than his ties to his friends in Chicago, including Pastor Jeremiah Wright, the 1970s domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and former Illinois governor and convicted felon Rod Blagojevich, very little about the President’s background has been revealed. Undoubtedly, less is known about this president than any other in the history of the U.S.
In Mr. Littleton’s letter, he speaks of the constitutionality of a law. President Obama has trampled on the U.S. Constitution more than anyone in history. He has not only ignored the Constitution, but has issued numerous executive orders to circumvent it — to the extent that his administration is being sued by individuals, corporations, states and organizations, including Catholic churches.
This may come as a revelation to Mr. Littleton, but elected officials of Lee County are sworn to uphold the U.S. and the North Carolina constitutions. They do not swear to uphold any president's interpretation or executive orders.
We do have one thing for which every law-abiding citizen should be grateful. Mr. Obama and his vice president have caused a record number of people to purchase firearms. Law-abiding citizens are better armed than ever before.
If Mr. Littleton is ever in need of a law enforcement officer, presumably, he will dial Attorney General Eric Holder instead of the Sheriff's Department.
