LETTER: Thanks to kind locals
To the Editor:
I have lived in Sanford for 22 years, and there are wonderful, caring people.
I moved back into my house after nine years of living elsewhere. My yard had no grass and was washing away into the street. I needed some advice, so I called Liz Whitmore (Sanford Historic Preservation Commission planner), as I live in the Historic District. She came by, and also Carl Anglin (superintendent, Sanford Code Enforcement Division) to let me know what was best. They both came on a Saturday morning to spread good black dirt, tilled and planted grass seed. Near the street, they purchased sod to lay, trying to hold my dirt.
It is a blessing to have two caring people willing to help me. Thank you, Liz Whitmore and Carl Anglin, and may God bless you both.
