North Brunswick rallied from a 5-0 deficit in the final two innings to stay alive in its NCHSAA 2A State Tournament semifinal series against Northwood, winning game two 6-5 on Saturday night.
The decisive game three in the best-of-three series is set for 6 p.m. Monday at Northwood.
Northwood (24-6), coming off a 6-3 win at home over the Scorpions (17-11) in Friday's game one, took the lead in the second inning of game two, then scored four runs in the fourth to make it 5-0.
Senior pitcher Steven Strong blanked North Brunswick through five innings before a huge five-run Scorpion rally in the sixth.
In the bottom of the seventh, with a Scorpion on third and two outs, Tyler Barnes got a hit for the walk-off RBI.
The Chargers are trying to advance through the state semifinals/Eastern Region final, the round in which their season ended a year ago.
