The Cavaliers jumped ahead with seven runs in the first inning, including Cullen Boyette's grand slam, and went on to an easy win in six innings in Fayetteville Wednesday night.
Boyette went 3-for-4 with the slam, two doubles and six RBI for the Cavs (13-3, 6-1), who won their eighth straight game.
Caleb Gaster pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks.
Jared Kehagias went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Southern Lee faced Lee County last night and will play at Westover Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
Middle Creek 12, Lee County 7
In a game moved from Friday up to Wednesday evening due to the threat of storms, Middle Creek (10-6, 7-2) prevailed in a Tri-Nine game at Lee County (5-10, 3-8).
Lee County played Southern Lee last night and will host Fuquay-Varina in a league game Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Cardinal Gibbons 18, Union Pines 4
After the Vikings (11-4, 5-1) plated three runs, making for a 4-4 tie in the middle of the second inning, Cardinal Gibbons (10-5, 3-0) posted six runs in the bottom of the second and kept going in a rout in Raleigh Wednesday afternoon.
Union Pines hosts Overhills tonight at 7 p.m.
Harnett Central 5, Triton 4
After a 10-0 Triton win earlier this season, Harnett Central (10-4, 4-2) earned a season split in Angier Wednesday night.
Triton (11-5, 4-3) played North Lenoir last night and will play at Cape Fear Christian Monday evening.
Harnett Central hosts Garner tonight at 7 p.m.
Fuquay-Varina 5, Pinecrest 3
The Bengals won a non-conference game in Southern Pines Wednesday night. The Patriots (10-6, 2-3) played Lumberton last night in SEC play.
Richmond 5, Union Pines 2
Richmond (13-2, 5-0) stopped the Lady Vikings' 10-game winning streak in a non-conference game Wednesday night.
Union Pines (10-2, 6-0) hosts Overhills tonight at 7 p.m.
Harnett Central 5, Triton 4
The Lady Trojans scored three runs in the home half of the seventh to rally and beat Triton (10-3, 6-1), getting a season split in the county series, Wednesday night.
Harnett Central (5-5, 2-3) hosts Garner tonight at 7 p.m. Triton played at North Lenoir last night.
Millbrook 9, Pinecrest 3
Pinecrest jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first frame only for homestanding Millbrook (5-6, 3-3) to eventually take a 4-2 lead with two tallies in the third.
Pinecrest (3-6, 2-3) returned to Southeastern play last night at Lumberton.
Middle Creek 4, Lee County 0
The Lady Mustangs (5-5-1, 4-5-1) got a Tri-Nine victory at Lee County (0-11, 0-10) Wednesday night. The Lady Jackets host Southern Lee, for the first match in the county rivalry this season, tonight at 6:30 p.m.
Union Pines 9, Douglas Byrd 0
The Lady Vikings (10-1-1, 6-0-0) piled up seven goals by halftime and got an easy Cape Fear Valley win at home Wednesday night. Union Pines plays at Hoke County tonight at 7 p.m.
Pinecrest 3, Lumberton 1
Katheryn Palmer scored a hat trick as the Lady Patriots made a 2-0 halftime lead stand up for a Southeastern Conference win on the road Wednesday night at Lumberton (11-2, 4-2).
Pinecrest (6-2-3, 5-0-0) will play at SEC match at Scotland Monday night at 7 p.m.
South Granville 3, Northwood 1
South Granville overturned a 1-0 Lady Charger lead at halftime to win a Carolina 12 match in Pittsboro Wednesday night. Northwood (4-6-1, 3-4-0) will play at Granville Central Monday at 6 p.m.
Harnett Central 2, Southeast Raleigh 0
The Lady Trojans (6-2, 4-2) won a Greater Neuse River victory at Southeast Raleigh (0-8, 0-8) Wednesday night. Harnett Central played Triton last night and will host Clayton in a GNRC match Monday at 6:30 p.m.
North Moore 4, Albemarle 3
After a 1-1 draw between the Lady Mustangs and Lady Bulldogs back on March 11, North Moore won at Albemarle Wednesday night in Yadkin Valley play.
North Moore (2-5-1) played South Stanly last night and will play at West Montgomery Monday at 6:30 p.m.
