Chatham Central won a pair of Yadkin Valley duals at South Davidson Thursday night. The Bears (15-9) will travel for duals at Wheatmore on Tuesday and at Jordan-Matthews on Wednesday.

Girls basketball

Lee Christian 41, Neuse Christian 34

The Lady Falcons (9-10, 5-6) celebrated homecoming and got a Carolina Christian Conference victory over the visiting Lady Lions Thursday night. Lee Christian has three wins in its last four games.

The Lady Falcons led 16-11 at halftime and 28-19 through three quarters.

Lee Christian will host Cape Fear Christian Tuesday at 6 p.m.


Jordan-Matthews 59, Cummings 31

The Lady Jets (17-2, 6-1) routed Cummings in a Mid-State game Thursday night, building up a 53-15 lead through three periods.

Senior forward Mylia Garner led Jordan-Matthews with 29 points.

Jordan-Matthews hosted Eastern Randolph last night and will host Graham Tuesday at 6 p.m.


Triton 52, North Lenoir 39

Triton (8-10, 4-3) held a 25-20 halftime lead and pulled away for an Eastern Carolina win at North Lenoir (2-18, 0-8) Thursday night.

Senior Mallory Caroway had 10 points and four assists for Triton. Je'nae Harvey and Jamecia McNair scored seven points each.

Triton played Cleveland last night and will go to Eastern Wayne Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. start.


Boys basketball

Cummings 42, Jordan-Matthews 34

Cummings (15-1, 6-0) stayed perfect in the Mid-State Conference getting by the visiting Jets (16-3, 4-3) Thursday night.

Cummings led 17-9 at halftime. The Jets battled back to a 24-24 score in the third period but never took the lead.

Dedric Bowman led Cummings with 17 points. Jet center Derek Hamilton scored 19 points, 15 in the second half.

The Jets played Eastern Randolph last night and will host Graham Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.


Triton 61, North Lenoir 59

Maurice and Krishawn McBryde combined for 29 points as Triton (15-3, 6-1) edged North Lenoir (10-10, 5-3) for a key ECC win Thursday night.

Jauquaz Jones led North Lenoir with 25 points.

Maurice McBryde led Triton with 18 points. Krishawn McBryde had 11 points and Dedrick Stacker scored 10 points.

Triton played at Cleveland last night and will go to Eastern Wayne Tuesday night.
