Asheville pulls away from Camels
UNC Asheville 86, Campbell 73
ASHEVILLE (AP) — Andrew Rowsey scored 24 points in leading UNC Asheville over Campbell 86-73 on Wednesday night.
Jaron Lane added 17 points and D.J. Cunningham 16, both scoring all but two of their points in the second half when the Bulldogs (12-11, 6-3 Big South) pulled away. Asheville turned up the pressure late in the first half to come back from a seven-point deficit to trail by one at the break and kept up the defensive intensity in the second half. The Bulldogs made 12 steals contributing to 19 Campbell turnovers.
Reco McCarter scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Fighting Camels (11-13, 5-4). Leek Leek had a career-high six blocks.
The victory lifted the Bulldogs into a three-way in the conference's South Division with Coastal Carolina and Gardner-Webb. Campbell fell into a tie for second place in the North with VMI, a game behind High Point.
High Point 77, Coastal Carolina 74
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Devante Wallace scored 17 points, including a layup — following his steal from Elijah Wilson — that gave High Point the lead with 25 seconds to play, as the Panthers beat Coastal Carolina 77-74 Wednesday night.
John Brown hit a pair of free throws which extended the High Point lead to 68-62 with 6:24 remaining before a 10-3 spurt gave Coastal Carolina a one-point advantage with 1:20 left.
Wallace knocked down a pair from the charity stripe 22 seconds later but a layup by Badou Diagne left the Chanticleers (13-10, 6-3 Big South) up 74-73 with 39 seconds to play.
After an offensive foul gave Coastal Carolina the ball, Wallace's steal and layup gave High Point (10-12, 6-3) the lead for good.
CCU missed a 3-pointer before Haiishen McIntyre iced the game from the free throw line.
Badou scored 21 to go along with nine rebounds to pace Coastal Carolina.

Tanner Milson scored all three of his 3-pointers and a jumper during the surge, scoring all 11 of his points in a 2-minute span. Cedrick Williams added two buckets as the Seahawks were hoping to end a losing skid that now stretches 13 games back into December.
But Williams missed point-blank with 10 seconds left after a Shane Reybold baby hook cut the gap to three.
