Grace comes up short in shootout

Boys basketball

Community Christian 110, Grace Christian 88

The host Cyclones scored at least 26 points in each quarter to beat Grace Christian (13-7, 4-3) in a Carolina Christian Conference game in Wilson Tuesday night.

Guards Mark Riches and Zach Boggs scored 26 points each to lead the Crusaders. Isaac Kruger scored 17 points and B.J. Harrison added 14 points.

Josh Willingham led the Cyclones with 25 points and Pat Goliday scored 22 points. Community Christian led 56-42 at halftime. The Cyclones improved to 5-1 in the CCC.

Grace Christian will host Trinity Christian Friday at 8 p.m.

O'Neal 58, Harrells Christian 45

O'Neal jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the opening minutes and led wire-to-wire for a Cape Fear Independent Conference victory on the road Tuesday night.

Jacob Talbert led the Falcons with 23 points and eight rebounds. Garrett Klumpar scored 11 points and Jack Johnston had eight points and six boards for O'Neal. Graham DiPinto led Harrells Christian with 15 points.

The Falcons (7-8, 2-1) have a four-game winning streak and travel to play Village Christian tonight at 7:30 p.m.

Girls basketball

Grace Christian 68, Community Christian 46

The Lady Crusaders remained perfect in conference play with an easy win in Wilson Tuesday night.

Grace Christian (17-3, 7-0) jumped out to a 20-6 lead by the end of the first quarter. Anna Murr led Grace with 23 points. Brooke Strickland scored 18 points and Alexis Ross had 14 points.

Jesslyn Boyette led the Lady Cyclones with 16 points. The Lady Crusaders (8-6, 5-3) snapped Community's five-game winning streak.

Grace Christian will host Trinity Christian Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Harrells Christian 54, O'Neal 18

Harrells Christian beat the visiting Lady Falcons for a Cape Fear Independent Conference win Tuesday night.

O'Neal (2-12, 1-2) has another CFIC game this evening, going to Village Christian for a 6 p.m. tip.
