Girls basketball

Northwood 66, Southern Durham 63

The Lady Chargers rallied with a 30-14 fourth quarter to come back and get a Big Eight Conference victory at home Wednesday night.

Northwood (12-4, 3-3) led 30-27 at halftime before the Lady Spartans (7-8, 4-3) took a 49-36 lead going to the fourth period.

Shontai Totten led Northwood with 21 points and Kristian Eanes scored 19 points.

Northwood hosts Chapel Hill at 7 p.m. tonight.


North Moore 34, Chatham Central 30

The Lady Mustangs (5-9, 3-5) edged Chatham Central (6-8, 3-3) for a Yadkin Valley win in Bear Creek Wednesday night. North Moore played at Grace Christian last night and plays at East Montgomery at 6 p.m. this evening. Chatham Central will host East Montgomery at 6 p.m. Tuesday.


East Wake 64, Harnett Central 22

East Wake (14-2, 6-1) routed the Lady Trojans, getting out to a 39-4 halftime lead, for a Greater Neuse River win Wednesday night.

Madison Turlington led Harnett Central with 12 points.

Harnett Central (7-8, 2-4) hosts Clayton at 6 p.m. this evening and will play a rescheduled game at Garner at 6 p.m. Monday.


Boys basketball

Southern Durham 65, Northwood 55

The Chargers (6-11, 1-6) got 27 points from Kadarus Rone but still fell at Southern Durham (7-8, 5-2) in a Big Eight game Wednesday night.

Amari Hamilton led the Spartans with 13 points.

Northwood plays at Chapel Hill at 7 p.m. tonight.

North Moore 65, Chatham Central 50

The Mustangs (10-5, 7-0) got going after the host Bears (6-8, 3-4) opened up with a 17-9 lead through a quarter in a YVC game at Chatham Central Wednesday night.

North Moore answered to take a 35-31 halftime edge. The Mustangs have won five straight and have a YVC game at East Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

The Bears will host East Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

East Wake 63, Harnett Central 41

East Wake topped the visiting Trojans in a Greater Neuse River game Wednesday night. Anthony Staton and Don Singletary scored 14 points each for the Trojans (5-10, 1-5).

The Trojans host Clayton tonight at 7:30 p.m. and will play at Garner at 8 p.m. Monday.
