Area scores: Lady Crusaders win Grace vs. Grace game
Grace Christian (Sanford) 70, Grace Christian (Raleigh) 43
The Lady Crusaders (8-1, 1-1) defeated Grace Christian of Raleigh in Sanford Thursday evening.
Sophomore guard Alexis Ross led the Lady Crusaders with 23 points and seven assists. She scored 12 points as the Lady Crusaders posted 46 points in the first half.
Karinda Farrant made it back-to-back double-doubles with 19 points, 10 steals, five assists and five blocked shots. Anna Murr added 22 points and seven rebounds.
Pranaya Boru led Grace of Raleigh (1-8) with 22 points.
The Lady Crusaders played Burlington Day last night and will play at Friendship Christian at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Fuquay-Varina 35, Harnett Central 30
The visiting Lady Bengals won the fourth quarter 12-4 to top Harnett Central Thursday night.
Ava Bethea led Fuquay-Varina (4-3) with 12 points.
Madison Turlington led the Lady Trojans with seven points. Mariah McLean and Tanisha Jones added six points each.
Harnett Central (3-4) played at Clayton last night and will host Western Harnett at 6 p.m. Monday.
Triton 60, Midway 27
The Lady Hawks (3-5) rolled to a season sweep of Midway at home Thursday night.
Je'nae Harvey made four three-pointers and totaled 17 points for the Lady Hawks. Alexis Hobson had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Savannah Dunn added nine points.
Triton will host South Johnston for a Two Rivers Conference game at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 20.
Greenfield 84, Grace Christian 30
Greenfield (11-0), the top-ranked team in NCISAA 1A, routed the Crusaders (3-5, 1-1) in a non-conference game Thursday night.
Xavier Mills and Dwayne Sutton led Greenfield with 13 points each.
William Kerr scored 12 points for the Crusaders and Zach Boggs added eight points.
Grace Christian hosted Wayne Christian last night and will play at O'Neal at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Harnett Central 50, Fuquay-Varina 46
The Trojans (3-4) edged the Bengals (2-5) to get a season split with Fuquay-Varina Thursday night in Angier.
Don Singletary had 12 points, four assists and four steals for the Trojans and Anthony Staton scored 11 points.
The Trojans played Clayton last night and will host Western Harnett at 8 p.m. Monday.
Triton 57, Midway 39
Last Friday, Midway trounced Triton 72-42. Thursday at Triton, Midway (5-1) led 23-17 at halftime before the Hawks (4-4) took over with a 24-10 advantage in the third quarter and went on to win.
D'Angelo Harris led the Hawks with 13 points and five assists. Nick Parker had 10 points and Dequill Avery had eight points and seven rebounds.
Triton will begin Two Rivers Conference play hosting South Johnston at 8 p.m. on Dec. 20.
Cape Fear Christian 58, Wayne Christian 42
The Cape Fear Christian Eagles defeated the Wayne Christian Eagles in a Carolina Christian Conference game in Erwin. Cape Fear Christian (1-6, 1-2) played at Lee Christian last night.
