Two Rivers Conference Tournament - final

Triton 54, South Johnston 49

No. 3-seeded Triton (12-13) defeated No. 1 South Johnston (19-5) to win the Two Rivers Conference Tournament Friday night at Triton. South Johnston was undefeated in TRC play coming into the final.

Junior Kadizah Gaulden led the Lady Hawks with 21 points including 5-of-9 three-point shooting. Triton made eight three-pointers total.

Je'Nae Harvey had eight points and five assists for the Lady Hawks while Jamecia McNair added seven points and Tarica Worney had six points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. The Lady Hawks won the fourth quarter 17-10.

The Lady Hawks won three games in three nights in the tournament.


Pinecrest 46, Hoke County 33

The Lady Patriots (8-12, 5-5) won their Senior Night game versus Hoke County Friday night. Seniors Danielle Paran and Judith Lawhon scored 10 points apiece for the Lady Patriots. Pinecrest finishes fourth in the Southeastern Conference.


Chatham Central 53, North Moore 44

The Lady Bears (13-10, 9-4) finished the regular season with a victory at North Moore (8-15, 5-10) Friday night, avenging a loss to the Lady Mustangs from January.

Mid-State Conference Tournament - final

Graham 66, Jordan-Matthews 62

The Red Devils (16-7) defended their Mid-State Conference Tournament title edging No. 4 Jordan-Matthews (10-16) Friday night at Cummings. The Jets reached the final by defeating Reidsville, then No. 1 Cummings in the semifinals.

The Jets jumped out to a 13-7 lead after a quarter. Jackson Rodgers led the Jets with 21 points, scoring 13 in the first half. Jaleel Dunn scored 14 points.

Jamie Newman led the Red Devils with 18 points.


Two Rivers Conference Tournament - final

Triton 69, Smithfield-Selma 68 - 2OT

The top-seeded Hawks (19-5) rallied from trailing 49-41 starting the fourth quarter to force overtime, at 59-59, and eventually win the Two Rivers Conference Tournament in double overtime on their home floor Friday night.

Senior Nick Parker led the Hawks with 22 points, six rebounds and six assists. Parker made 5 of 9 three-pointers.

Chris Eason had 11 points and 13 rebounds. D'Angelo Harris had 11 points, eight assists and six steals. Raynor Weaver added eight points with six points each from Trent Fennell and Dequill Avery.

Sophomore Raequan Smith led No. 3 Smithfield-Selma (10-16) with 23 points.


Hoke County 64, Pinecrest 58

Hoke County (16-9, 9-1), already having won the Southeastern Conference championship, spoiled Pinecrest's home finale Friday night.

Kardashian Ragin and Brendan Ortiz led the Patriots with 16 points apiece. The Patriots finish 6-15 and 3-7.

North Moore 53, Chatham Central 48

North Moore (15-8, 12-2) completed a regular-season sweep of the Bears (12-11, 7-7) Friday night in Robbins. The Mustangs got out to a 16-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and held on as Chatham Central tried to rally in the fourth quarter.

Zack Burke tallied 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Bears while Matt Clark had 19 points and nine boards.

North Moore wins the Yadkin Valley Conference East Division and has won four of its last five games heading into the state tournament.
