Area scores: Falcons swing away for CCC win
Lee Christian 12, Neuse Christian 4
The Falcons scored two runs in the first and kept going to take an 8-0 lead through four frames in a Carolina Christian Conference win in Raleigh Tuesday afternoon.
Brent Godfrey pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and one walk.
Noah Thomas led the Falcon hitting going 4 for 5 with a double. Harrison Rogers went 2 for 3 and Caleb Reynolds went 2 for 5.
Lee Christian put four runs up in the second, then two more in the fourth.
The Falcons (4-4, 3-3) will play their CCC regular-season finale at Wayne Christian at 4 p.m. Friday.
Southern Lee 6, Western Harnett 3
The Cavaliers (15-5, 7-2 Cape Fear Valley) jumped on top with five runs in the home half of the first and went on for their third win in three games with Western Harnett (6-11, 2-4 Two Rivers) this season Tuesday at Southern Lee.
Ben Gaster pitched 5.2 innings to get the victory. Ryan Holmes pitched the Eagle seventh to get a save.
At the plate for the Cavs, Cullen Boyette and Turtle Windish both went 3 for 3 with one run. Ethan Helsman went 2 for 4 with a run and two RBI. Maxx Taylor had a triple, a run and two RBI.
Western Harnett played Smithfield-Selma last night and will host South Johnston at 7 p.m. Friday.
Southern Lee played Apex last night and will host Union Pines at 7 p.m. Friday. The Cavaliers defeated the Vikings in a non-league game, 11-4, on March 4. The Vikings took the first CFVC contest, 2-1, in Cameron on March 21.
Pinecrest 10, Union Pines 0
The Patriots (16-3, 5-2 Southeastern) tallied seven runs, for a 7-0 lead, in the third inning and rolled to an in-county victory at Union Pines (11-8, 7-3 Cape Fear Valley) Tuesday night.
Tristan Helms went 3 for 5 with three RBI and Dylan Wallace hit a homer and had two RBI for the Patriots.
Emmitt Carden went 2 for 3 for the Vikings. Pinecrest held the Vikings to five hits.
Pinecrest, with a nine-game winning streak, will host Scotland for an SEC game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Union Pines played Jordan-Matthews last night and will visit Southern Lee for a CFVC contest at 7 p.m. Friday.
Harnett Central 12, Southeast Raleigh 2
The Trojans (10-3, 7-1) routed Southeast Raleigh (1-10, 1-8) in five innings in a Greater Neuse River game Tuesday afternoon.
Cole Bowers pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and one earned run while striking out four.
Ethan Berry scored three Trojan runs. Cade Honeycutt, Daryl Johnson, Nate Rhodes had two RBI each.
Harnett Central will play a GNRC game at Knightdale at 7 p.m. Friday.
Triton 7, Cleveland 0
Hawk senior Trent Fennell pitched a five-hit shutout and Triton (11-4, 6-1) won a Two Rivers game over the visiting Rams (7-11, 2-5) Tuesday night.
Fennell (5-1) gave up no walks and struck out six. Houston Hamilton went 2 for 3 with a home run and two runs scored. Aaron Hedgepeth went 2 for 4 with two doubles and a run.
Triton continues conference play at Smithfield-Selma at 7 p.m. tonight.
Jordan-Matthews 4, Uwharrie Charter 0
Trey Lineberry fired a one-hit shutout for the Jets (13-4, 5-1 Mid-State) in a non-conference win on the road Tuesday evening.
Jordan-Matthews played at Union Pines last night and will play a league game at Carrboro at 5 p.m. Friday.
Pinecrest 7, Union Pines 0
Freshman Jordan Blake pitched a four-hit shutout leading the Lady Patriots (10-4, 4-3 Southeastern) to a win at county rival Union Pines (9-5, 7-3 Cape Fear Valley) Tuesday night.
Pinecrest took the lead with two runs in the fourth, then did the rest of its scoring in the seventh inning. Madison Thum went 2 for 3 with a double, a triple, a run and an RBI. Bobbie McDaniel had a double, a run and two RBI.
The Lady Vikings played at North Moore last night and play at Southern Lee at 7 p.m. tonight.
Pinecrest will host Scotland for an SEC game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Triton 4, Cleveland 3
Cleveland (10-5, 5-2) scored a tying run in the top of the seventh but Triton (10-6, 4-3) scored for a walk-off victory in the home half of the seventh in a Two Rivers game in Erwin Tuesday night. Triton and Cleveland split for the regular season.
Kayce Graves went 1 for 3 with a run and three RBI for Triton. Emma Thomas went 3 for 4 with a run. Kayla Baker pitched a complete game for the win.
The Lady Hawks play a Two Rivers game at Smithfield-Selma at 7 p.m. tonight.
Cape Fear Christian 13, Oakwood 0
Cape Fear Christian (12-2) ran its winning streak to six games with a five-inning win versus visiting Oakwood Tuesday.
Julie Hodges fired a one-hit complete game with nine strikeouts included. She went 2 for 3 with a double, three runs and an RBI at the plate.
Delaney Cumble scored four runs for the Lady Eagles. Amberly McLamb drove in three RBI. Callie Ferrell went 2 for 3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI.
Cape Fear Christian plays at Lee Christian at 6 p.m. this evening.

The Lady Chargers (7-5, 4-3) got a clean sheet for the second time this season versus J.F. Webb. Northwood continues Big Eight play hosting Orange at 6:45 p.m. this evening.

The Lady Trojans (5-7-2, 3-4-2) completed a season sweep versus Southeast Raleigh in a Greater Neuse River match Tuesday afternoon. Harnett Central played at Knightdale last night and will host Garner at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The Lady Patriots (9-5-1, 6-2-0) rolled to a Southeastern Conference win Tuesday night in Southern Pines. Pinecrest will play at New Bern at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Lady Lions (5-1-1 Carolina Christian) defeated the visiting Lady Falcons (4-5, 3-4) in a CCC match Tuesday afternoon in Raleigh.

Caldwell Academy (10-2-1) prevailed at O'Neal in a non-league match Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Falcons (1-9-1, 1-5-0 Cape Fear Independent) host Fayetteville Christian for a CFIC match at 4:30 p.m. today.
Uwharrie Charter 3, Chatham Charter 1
Chelsea Douglas scored a hat trick and keeper Alexis Currie made 13 saves for the visitors versus Chatham Charter (1-7) Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Knights will host East Wake Academy at 4:30 p.m. today in Siler City.
Orange 7, Northwood 5
Orange (7-7) earned a season split with the Chargers (7-5) Tuesday evening at Orange. Bowen Collins scored four goals for the victors.
Jacob Bass and Tyler Romel scored two goals each for the Chargers. Eric Franklin made 10 saves.
The Chargers played at Cedar Ridge last night and will play at J.F. Webb, for their fourth match in five days, at 6 p.m. Friday.
Panther Creek 7, Pinecrest 4
The Catamounts beat Pinecrest (1-12) for the second time this season in Cary Tuesday evening.
Johnathan Schlaff scored two goals for the Patriots while Nic Guyon and Zach Fradenburgh scored one apiece. Ross Weiss made 15 saves.
Pinecrest will play at Holly Springs at 6 p.m. Friday.
Panther Creek 8, Pinecrest 6
Panther Creek edged the visiting Lady Patriots (6-5) Tuesday afternoon in Cary. Pinecrest will host Riverside at 6 p.m. Friday.
