Boys basketball

Harnett Central 50, Western Harnett 37

The Trojans (4-4) beat the Eagles (1-8) for the third time this season in Lillington Monday night.

Tre Rogers led Harnett Central with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Hunter Baker added 12 points.

Harnett Central opens Greater Neuse River Conference play hosting Southeast Raleigh Friday at 8 p.m.

Western Harnett hosted Southern Lee last night and will play at Gray’s Creek Friday at 8 p.m.


Jordan-Matthews 76, Lee Christian 12

The host Jets rolled to an 8-0 record beating Lee Christian Monday night in Siler City.

Jordan-Matthews opens Mid-State Conference play hosting Providence Grove Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Lee Christian (1-6) played O’Neal last night. The Falcons will travel to Cape Fear Christian for a Carolina Christian Conference game Friday at 7:30 p.m.


Girls basketball

Jordan-Matthews 61, Lee Christian 18

The Lady Jets (8-0) got their most lopsided win of the season Monday night over the Lady Falcons (5-3). Jordan-Matthews pulled away after leading 26-13 at halftime.

The Lady Jets host Providence Grove Friday for a 6 p.m. tip.

Lee Christian played O’Neal last night and will play at Cape Fear Christian Friday at 6 p.m.


Harnett Central 52, Western Harnett 12

Harnett Central improved to an 8-0 mark with its third win this season over Western Harnett.

Jalisia Campbell and DeAnneisha Jackson scored 12 points each for Harnett Central while Maya Banks and Erica Holmes added eight apiece. Jonacia Harper led the Lady Eagles with six points.

Harnett Central turned the game into a rout with a 21-0 second period for a 28-4 halftime lead.

The Lady Trojans host Southeast Raleigh Friday at 6 p.m. The Lady Eagles (0-9) played Southern Lee last night and will go to Gray’s Creek Friday for a 6:30 p.m. tip.
