Area scores: Crusaders ease to 11th straight win

Grace Christian 9, Wayne Christian 0

Sergio Charco and Joe Urrutia scored two goals each and the Crusaders rolled to their 11th straight win at Wayne Christian Tuesday afternoon.

Jose Leonidez had a goal and three assists and Salvador Leonidez had a goal and two assists. Victor Mondragon, Isaac Kruger and Micah Welborn scored a goal each.

The Crusaders (15-2-1, 7-0-0) are closing in their third straight Carolina Christian Conference season title. Grace Christian has five matches, two being CCC matches, all being at home, to finish its regular season. The Crusaders host East Montgomery at 5 p.m. today.

O'Neal 3, Village Christian 0

The Falcons (4-6-1, 2-2-0) made it back-to-back Cape Fear Independent Conference wins, both with shutouts, at Village Christian on Tuesday. O'Neal hosts Harrells Christian in a CFIC match at 4:45 p.m. today.

Cape Fear Christian 6, Crossroads Christian 0

Cape Fear Christian (5-4-2, 4-2-1) blanked the Colts in a CCC match in Henderson on Tuesday. The Eagles have another CCC match at home versus Neuse Christian at 4 p.m. Friday.

Union Pines 3, Western Harnett 0

The Vikings (4-5-3) blanked the visiting Eagles (1-7-2) on Tuesday night. Union Pines played a conference game against Westover last night and will go to Terry Sanford Monday for a 7 p.m. start. Western Harnett played a conference match versus Smithfield-Selma last night and will play at South Johnston at 6 p.m. Monday.


Gray's Creek d. Southern Lee 25-18, 25-15, 25-21

The Lady Bears (9-5, 3-5) avenged a five-set Lady Cavalier win from August with a win in Hope Mills on Tuesday. Southern Lee (5-3, 4-3) hosted Pinecrest last night and will visit Pinecrest on Monday for a 6 p.m. start.

Northwood Temple d. Lee Christian 25-27, 25-15, 26-24, 25-19

Northwood Temple (9-7, 5-2) answered the Lady Falcons (5-4, 5-3) winning the opening set for a CCC win Tuesday evening. Lee Christian will host Wayne Christian at 5 p.m. Friday.

Cleveland d. Western Harnett 25-22, 25-16, 15-25, 25-9

Cleveland (4-8, 2-3) won a Two Rivers Conference match at Western Harnett Tuesday night. The Lady Eagles (4-9, 1-4) played Corinth Holders last night and will host Pine Forest at 6 p.m. Monday.

Triton d. Corinth Holders 25-14, 25-19, 25-18

The Lady Hawks (9-2, 5-0) won at Corinth Holders (10-2, 4-1) Tuesday night to take sole possession of first place in the Two Rivers Conference. Triton played Overhills last night and plays at South Johnston at 5:30 p.m. today.

East Montgomery d. Chatham Central 25-23, 25-23, 31-29

Despite three close sets, East Montgomery (6-6, 6-4) swept the Lady Bears in a Yadkin Valley match in Bear Creek Tuesday night. The Lady Bears (4-10, 2-7) host West Montgomery at 6 p.m. tonight.

Chapel Hill d. Northwood 25-15, 25-7, 25-13

Chapel Hill beat the visiting Lady Chargers (4-7, 2-6) in a Big Eight match Tuesday. Northwood hosts Cardinal Gibbons in a conference match at 6 p.m. tonight.

North Moore d. South Davidson 25-22, 25-17, 25-15

The Lady Mustangs (8-6, 5-5) swept South Davidson for a Yadkin Valley win and their fourth straight win overall Tuesday. North Moore played at Albemarle last night and will go to North Stanly for a match at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Terry Sanford 3, Union Pines 2

Terry Sanford earned a split for the season series with the Lady Vikings (11-4, 6-2) in a Cape Fear Valley match in Fayetteville Tuesday night. Union Pines hosts Lee County (10-3, 7-1) at 5:30 p.m. this evening.

Village Christian 3, O'Neal 0

Village Christian (12-3, 4-0) won a CFIC match at O'Neal Tuesday evening. The Lady Falcons (3-7, 1-2) host Harrells Christian at 5:15 p.m. today.

Overhills 3, Cape Fear 0

The Lady Jaguars (10-6, 6-2) swept Cape Fear for the match and the regular season at home Tuesday night. Overhills played at Triton last night and has a Mid-South Athletic match at Seventy-First at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Cape Fear Christian d. Crossroads Christian 25-18, 25-17, 26-24

The Lady Eagles (5-6, 5-2) swept Crossroads Christian in Henderson Tuesday evening for a Carolina Christian victory. Cape Fear Christian will host Neuse Christian for a CCC match at 5:15 p.m. Friday.


O'Neal 6, Village Christian 3

O'Neal (6-3, 2-1) won its third straight match defeating a conference foe at home Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Falcons host Harrells Christian at 4 p.m. today.

Seventy-First 6, Overhills 3

Seventy-First topped the visiting Lady Jaguars in a Mid-South Athletic match Tuesday. Overhills (3-4, 3-4) hosts Pine Forest at 4 p.m. today.
