Lady Jets roll to 11-0 in Christmas tourney

Mylia Garner poured in 27 points as the Lady Jets, the defending champs of the Courier-Tribune Christmas Tournament, won in the first round of this season's tourney Thursday at Asheboro.
The Lady Jets opened up a 37-15 lead by halftime. Center Erin Bristow added 19 points.
Jordan-Matthews (11-0) continued in the tournament yesterday and it wraps up today at Asheboro.
East Wake 52, Harnett Central 41
East Wake (6-2, 3-0) prevailed in a Greater Neuse River game in Angier Thursday night.
Shakerrya Morrison led East Wake with 12 points. DeAnneisha Jackson led the Lady Trojans with 15 points.
Harnett Central (9-2, 1-2) is off until a conference game against West Johnston on Jan. 4.
East Wake 70, Harnett Central 64 - OT
The host Trojans (4-7, 0-3) led 31-22 at halftime, then 42-35 through three quarters before East Wake fought back to make it 55-55 at the end of regulation. Sophomore Quincy Jackson led East Wake with 26 points.
Harnett Central will host West Johnston on Jan. 4.
