Lee County 8, Westover 2

The Yellow Jackets (9-6-1, 6-4-1) celebrated their senior night by scoring six goals in the second half and sweeping Westover (5-9, 2-8) for the regular season. Seven seniors played their last regular-season home match for the Jackets: Angel Salazar, Miguel Macedo, Eric Reyes, Tyler North, Daniel Briggs, Miguel Jernigan and James Salisbury.

Lee County led 2-0 at halftime before turning the match into a rout. Michael Carter scored two goals. Salazar, Macedo, Tyler Underwood, Emrique Lee, Payton Jackson and Jacob Baker had a goal each. Hunter Watson made four saves in goal.

Lee County is in third place in the Cape Fear Valley, a half-game ahead of Gray's Creek, with one match left for the Yellow Jackets and Bears. Lee County plays at Southern Lee at 7 p.m. tonight.

Gray's Creek 5, Union Pines 0

The Bears (9-7-1, 6-5-0) blanked the visiting Vikings (6-9-3, 3-8-1) in a CFVC match Monday night. Union Pines finishes its regular season hosting Scotland at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Pinecrest 5, Richmond 0

Pinecrest (13-1-2, 8-1-0) made it three straight wins and a 23-0 scoring margin in the stretch with a Southeastern win at Richmond Monday night. The Patriots host Hoke County at 7 p.m. tonight.

North Moore 9, North Stanly 0

The Mustangs (9-3-1, 6-2-0) routed the Colts on the road Monday night. North Moore will host Queens Grant at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Jordan-Matthews 5, Bartlett Yancey 1

The Jets (11-5-1, 5-2-1) completed a regular-season sweep versus Bartlett Yancey (6-13, 1-7) Monday night. The Jets visit Cummings tonight for a 6 p.m. start.

Cedar Ridge 2, Northwood 0

Cedar Ridge avenged a 2-1 Charger win from September with a win in Pittsboro on Monday. The Chargers (8-7, 5-5) play a Big Eight match at Orange at 7 p.m. tonight.

Smithfield-Selma 8, Western Harnett 1

The Spartans rolled to a Two Rivers win at home Monday night. Western Harnett (2-12-2, 1-6-0) hosts South Johnston at 6 p.m. this evening.

E.E. Smith 2, Overhills 1

E.E. Smith held off the visiting Jaguars (6-8-2, 5-5-1) in a Mid-South Athletic match Monday. Overhills plays its regular-season finale hosting Jack Britt at 7 p.m. tonight.

Cleveland 3, Triton 1

The Rams prevailed in a Two Rivers match at Triton Monday night. The Hawks (3-12-1, 0-6-0) played at Corinth Holders last night and go to Smithfield-Selma for another league match at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Garner 4, Harnett Central 0

Garner shut out the Trojans (6-10-1, 3-7-0) in a Greater Neuse River match in Angier Monday night. Harnett Central finishes its regular season playing at Rolesville at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Terry Sanford 251, Union Pines 266, Lee County 281, Southern Lee 315

Lee County's Siranon Shoomee and Terry Sanford's Marisa Kawabe were co-medalists in the last Cape Fear Valley Conference match of the season at Whispering Pines Country Club on Monday. The NCHSAA 3A East Regional Championship will be played at Birchwood Country Club in Nashville on Monday.

Cape Fear 282, Jack Britt 307, Overhills 352

The Lady Colts won a Mid-South Athletic match played at Baywood Golf Course on Monday.


Southern Lee 3, Gray's Creek 0

After splitting with No. 5 Gray's Creek in the regular season, the No. 4-seeded Lady Cavaliers (10-6) advanced through the first round of the Cape Fear Valley Conference Tournament with a sweep Monday night.

The Lady Cavs fell to Lee County in the semifinals on Tuesday night. Southern Lee has earned a berth into the NCHSAA 3A State Tournament. The first round, likely on the road for Southern Lee, is set for Saturday.

Union Pines d. Douglas Byrd 26-24, 25-13, 25-17

No. 3-seeded Union Pines (15-6) swept No. 6 Douglas Byrd in a CFVC Tournament first round match Monday night.

Tiffany Hicks had five kills and three blocks for the Lady Vikings. Kaylee Herman had 12 assists and Alex Prots had five blocks.

Union Pines played No. 2 Terry Sanford in a semifinal last night.

Overhills 3, Seventy-First 0

The No. 3-seeded Lady Jaguars (12-10) swept No. 6 Seventy-First in the first round of the Mid-South Athletic Conference Tournament Monday. Overhills advanced to play No. 2 Jack Britt in a semifinal last night. The final is set for 6 p.m. this evening at Pine Forest.

South Johnston 3, Western Harnett 0

South Johnston defeated the Lady Eagles (7-13) in the first round of the Two Rivers Conference Tournament at Cleveland Monday night.
