Terry Sanford 250, Lee County 269, Union Pines 270, Southern Lee 320

Terry Sanford won a Cape Fear Valley Conference match played at Cypress Lakes Golf Course on Monday afternoon in Hope Mills. Lee County sophomore Siranon Shoomee was the match medalist shooting a one-under-par 71 for her third straight under-par round.

The CFVC squads will meet again at Gates Four Golf Course this coming Monday afternoon.

Soccer

Southern Lee 4, Gray's Creek 1

The Cavaliers (11-0-2, 6-0-1) completed a season sweep of the Bears (7-4, 4-4) in Hope Mills Monday night. The Cavs have non-conference matches at Overhills, tonight at 6 p.m., and at East Montgomery, at 6 p.m. Thursday.

In the JV match in Hope Mills, the Cavaliers rolled to a 7-0 win over the Bears.

Lee County 9, Douglas Byrd 0

The Yellow Jackets rolled to a 5-0 lead in the first half and got a Cape Fear Valley win at home Monday night.

Angel Salazar and Jacob Baker scored two goals each. Ivan Mireles and Miguel Jernigan had two assists apiece. Mireles, Emrique Lee, Isai Arroyo and Michael Carter had one goal each.

Lee County (6-5-1, 4-3-1) hosted Richmond last night and has a CFVC match at Union Pines at 7 p.m. tonight. The Jackets and Vikings played a scoreless draw on Sept. 9.

Grace Christian 5, Elon School 0

The Crusaders won with their ninth consecutive shutout, taking their winning streak to 14 games, on Monday.

Evan Kannarr led Grace Christian with two goals. Nathan Holt, Joe Urrutia and Zach Boggs scored a goal each. Joel Benitez had two assists.

The Crusaders (18-2-1) hosted Cresset Christian yesterday and will host First Assembly Christian at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Terry Sanford (12-1-1, 6-0-1) and Southern Lee remained tied atop the Cape Fear Valley after both squads won Monday night. The Vikings (5-6-3, 2-5-1) host Lee County at 7 p.m. tonight.

Jordan-Matthews 10, Cummings 2

The Jets (9-4-1, 3-1-1) romped to a Mid-State victory in Siler City Monday night. Kevin Rodriguez and Diego Santestiban scored two goals each as part of the Jets taking a 7-1 lead by halftime. Gustavo Almeida, Martin Carillo, Franklin Gomez, Jonathan Hernandez, Darwin Ramirez and Cirilo Rangel scored a goal each.

Jordan-Matthews hosts Reidsville for a conference match at 6 p.m. this evening.


Cape Fear 3, Overhills 1

The Colts got out to a 2-0 lead by halftime and won a Mid-South Athletic match at Overhills (5-6-2, 4-3-1) Monday night. The Jaguars host Southern Lee at 6 p.m. this evening.


Smithfield-Selma 9, Triton 1

Smithfield-Selma (7-4-2, 3-0-0) led 4-0 at halftime and kept rolling to a Two Rivers win at Triton (3-9-1, 0-3-0) Monday night. Triton hosts Western Harnett for a conference match at 6 p.m. this evening.


South Johnston 2, Western Harnett 0

South Johnston (7-3-1, 2-1-0) got both its goals in the second half to defeat the visiting Eagles (1-9-2, 0-3-0) in a Two Rivers match Monday night. Western Harnett plays at Triton at 6 p.m. tonight.
