Lady Imps slug way past Lee County

Cary 9, Lee County 7
The Lady Yellow Jackets fought back multiple times, including with a three-run rally to make a 7-7 tie through five innings, but Cary (5-10, 4-8) took the lead for good in the sixth inning and won a Tri-Nine game at Lee County (3-12, 2-9) Thursday evening.
Nikki Hoover hit a home run for the Lady Jackets and Zizi Hammonds had a triple and two RBI.
Lee County hosts Southern Lee today at 1 p.m.

Northwood 11, Cedar Ridge 0
Northwood (10-3, 7-1) rolled to a Carolina 12 win at Cedar Ridge Thursday evening. Northwood will host Carrboro Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Clayton 12, Harnett Central 2
Clayton (8-4, 6-3) won a Greater Neuse River game at Harnett Central (7-7, 4-5) Thursday night. The Lady Trojans will play at East Wake Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Union Pines 14, Westover 0
The Lady Vikings (14-4, 8-0) remained perfect in the Cape Fear Valley blanking visiting Westover on Wednesday. Union Pines will host Western Harnett Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Baseball
Wayne Christian 8, Lee Christian 5
Wayne Christian (7-3, 5-1) topped the host Falcons (0-5, 0-3) in a Carolina Christian Conference game in Sanford Thursday afternoon.
Lee Christian will play at Cape Fear Christian Monday at 4 p.m.

Chatham Central 9, South Davidson 1
The Bears (10-7, 8-3) completed a regular season sweep of South Davidson in Denton on Thursday.
Seth Elkins fired a complete game, allowing two hits and notching 14 strikeouts.
Victor Stinson and Chase Fuquay went 3-for-3 at the plate. Stinson, Fuquay and Cade McIntyre knocked in two RBI each.
Chatham Central will play at Albemarle Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Jordan-Matthews 10, West Montgomery 3
The Jets took command with a six-run fourth inning, changing a 3-2 West Montgomery lead to a big Jet lead. Hunter Causey hit a three-run homer in the six-run rally.
Jordan-Matthews (13-5, 6-3) was scheduled to play at Bartlett Yancey last night and will host Eastern Randolph Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill 15, O'Neal 0
The Falcons dropped a non-conference game in Durham Thursday afternoon. O'Neal (0-8, 0-3) will host Harrells Christian Tuesday at 4 p.m.

North Moore 8, East Montgomery 5
East Montgomery led 4-1 through two frames before the Mustangs (9-10, 8-6) rallied back for a Yadkin Valley win Thursday at East Montgomery.
North Moore scored three in the third to make it 4-4, then took the lead with four runs in the sixth.
Kirby Lambert and Dustin Morrison had two RBI each. Colton Troxler scored three runs. Morrison pitched a complete game and struck out eight.
North Moore will host Gray Stone Day Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Northwood 13, Cedar Ridge 3
The Chargers (14-4, 10-0) remained perfect in Carolina 12 play with an easy win over the Fighting Red Wolves (6-11, 4-6) Thursday night.
Justin King hit two homers and drove in three runs for the Chargers. Robert Straughn got the win on the mound.
Northwood will host Carrboro Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Union Pines 14, Westover 4
The Vikings (13-4, 7-1) beat the visiting Wolverines in a Cape Fear Valley game Wednesday night. Union Pines plays at Southern Lee tonight at 7 p.m.

Girls soccer
Apex 1, Lee County 0
Lee County played its tightest game of the season but host Apex (5-7-1, 5-6-1) prevailed in a Tri-Nine match Thursday night. The Lady Yellow Jackets (0-13, 0-12) played at Jack Britt last night and will host Panther Creek Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Statesville Christian 9, Grace Christian 0
Statesville Christian (8-3) rolled to a win at Grace Christian (8-6-2) Thursday afternoon. The Lady Crusaders will play at CCC match at Trinity Academy Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Jordan-Matthews 1, Chatham Central 1
The Lady Bears (2-8-2) held their county rivals to a draw in Bear Creek Thursday night.
Jordan-Matthews (7-4-2) will play at Eastern Randolph Monday at 6 p.m. Chatham Central will play at South Davidson Monday at 6:30 p.m.

O'Neal 4, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill 0
Hannah Sullivan's hat trick led the Lady Falcons (3-5-1) to a non-conference win on the road Thursday afternoon.
Chloe Hoffman scored a goal as well. O'Neal led 2-0 at halftime.
The Lady Falcons will host Fayetteville Christian Thursday at 4:45 p.m.

Garner 3, Harnett Central 0
Garner (5-6-1, 5-2-1) blanked Harnett Central (7-5, 4-5) in a Greater Neuse River match in Angier Thursday night. Harnett Central will host Smithfield-Selma Monday at 6 p.m.

Overhills 0, Pine Forest 0
The Lady Jaguars (8-5-3, 6-2-1) drew a non-conference match at Pine Forest Thursday night. Overhills will play at Gray's Creek Thursday at 7 p.m.

Northwood 6, Cedar Ridge 1
The Lady Chargers (5-6-1, 4-4-0) completed a regular season sweep of conference foe Cedar Ridge on the road Wednesday night. Northwood was slated to play at East Chapel Hill last night and will play at Carrboro Monday at 6:45 p.m.

The Chargers (2-10) fell in a Conference 5 match at Carrboro Thursday evening. Carrboro led 7-3 at the half and won the third quarter 4-0.
