Lady Jets beat Graham in conference semi

Jordan-Matthews 63, Graham 39

After splitting regular season meetings, the Lady Jets (23-3) turned a close game into a blowout in the second half of a Mid-State Conference Tournament semifinal at Bartlett Yancey Thursday night.

Graham (16-10) was tied 24-24 with the Lady Jets in the third quarter. Jordan-Matthews went on an 11-1 run, then won the fourth period 24-10.

Forwards Mylia Garner and Taylor Paige led the Lady Jets with 20 and 19 points, respectively. Center Erin Bristow added 10 points.

Jordan-Matthews played Reidsville in the Mid-State championship game Friday night.

Pinecrest 47, Lumberton 30

No. 3 Pinecrest (16-8) beat No. 2 Lumberton for the first time in three chances this season in the Southeastern Conference semifinals Thursday night.

Janea Williams led the Lady Patriots with 16 points, 19 rebounds and four blocks. Felicia Painter also had a big double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. Pinecrest led 24-14 at halftime.

Pinecrest played at top-seeded Scotland in the SEC final last night.

Boys basketball

Triton 60, North Lenoir 58

Triton senior A.J. Williams made a game-winning lay-up to send the top-seeded Hawks past No. 4 North Lenoir in an Eastern Carolina Conference Tournament semifinal Thursday night.

Maurice McBryde led Triton with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Dedrick Stacker added 11 points. Williams had seven points and five rebounds.

Triton (21-3) played No. 2 Southern Wayne in the ECC final last night.
