Lynn finishes tied for 14th in eGolf tourney
Sanford native Chip Lynn, who became the sponsored touring pro of Carolina Trace Country Club earlier last week, finished tied for 14th in the eGolf Professional Tour's Willow Creek Open at High Point Country Club on Friday.
After an opening-round 65 to be seven-under par and one shot behind the leader through Wednesday, Lynn carded rounds of 71 and 73 to finish seven-under par.
Josh Persons, of Fargo, N.D. and in his third eGolf event of the year, won with a -14 total, winning by a stroke on runner-up Seamus Power of Ireland. Persons won $17,000 for the victory. Lynn made $2,050 for his finish.
Lynn, who attended Western Harnett and Overhills, then Fayetteville State, is in his fifth year playing on pro golf tours. He's currently No. 12 on the eGolf Tour's season money list.
This coming week, Lynn will be playing in a PGA Tour Latinoamerica event, the Dominican Republic Open at Cana Bay Golf Club in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
