Lee Christian will host an exciting quadruple-header of hoops Thursday evening. The most meaningful results of the night however won't be how the Falcons finish on the scoreboard.

Lee Christian is hosting its second Hoops for Hope Night as the Falcons, beginning with the junior varsity girls game at 3:30 p.m., will host Crossroads Christian. The varsity games are slated for 5:30 and 7 p.m.

"Last year was a tremendous success and we hope to continue again this year," said Steven Lane, president of the Lee Christian Athletic Booster Club.

Gate proceeds, concessions and money raised from special events during the night will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Jeanne West, organizer of the event, also formed a Lee Christian team for Relay for Life and the Falcons had a booth at the relay last year. Hoops for Hope combined with Lee Christian's Relay for Life team raised more than $3,500 for cancer research.

There will be a silent auction and players will be wearing pink warm-up shirts with the t-shirts available to purchase during Thursday night's games.

The centerpiece of the night is a survivor's recognition ceremony which will be between the varsity games.

"It was a great night for promotion cancer awareness," Lane said, "and I am glad that we decided to do this again this year."
