Area scores: Lady Falcons cruise to CCC volleyball victory

Lee Christian d. Wayne Christian 25-14, 25-7, 25-21

The Lady Falcons (6-5, 6-3) swept visiting Wayne Christian to complete their Carolina Christian Conference season with a win Friday evening.

Kelsey Clayton led Lee Christian with 17 service points, seven aces and five kills. Mak Bowers had eight service points. Cameron Dubuc and Kenna Parson hit for five points each.

Lee Christian will play its last regular season match at Faith Home School at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Crossroads Christian 3, Grace Christian 0

Crossroads Christian won a CCC match at Grace Christian (4-8, 2-5) on Friday. The Lady Crusaders will host Cresset Christian in another CCC contest at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Cape Fear Christian 3, Neuse Christian 0

The Lady Eagles (6-6, 6-2) won a CCC match at home over Neuse Christian (1-9, 1-6) on Friday. Cape Fear Christian will play at Oakwood School at 5:15 p.m. Monday.

Cape Fear Academy d. O'Neal 17-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-19

The Lady Hurricanes (5-9 overall) won a Cape Fear Independent Conference match in Southern Pines on Friday. O'Neal (3-8, 1-3) will play another CFIC match at Fayetteville Christian at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Jordan-Matthews d. Reidsville 23-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-10

The Lady Jets (3-12, 2-2) won a Mid-State Conference match in Siler City Thursday night. Jordan-Matthews will host Graham at 6 p.m. Tuesday.


Terry Sanford 257, Union Pines 264, Lee County 285, Southern Lee 314

Lee County sophomore Siranon Shoomee set her second course record of the high school season, shooting a four-under-par 68 at Highland Country Club in Fayetteville in a Cape Fear Valley match on Wednesday.

Shoomee also set a girls' course record with a round of 70 at Sanford Municipal Golf Course earlier this season.

The Lady Yellow Jackets, Lady Cavaliers and Lady Vikings will play a CFVC match at Cypress Lakes Golf Course, hosted by Gray's Creek, on Monday afternoon.


Grace Christian 9, Crossroads Christian 0

Eight Crusaders scored and Grace Christian (17-2-1, 8-0-0) ran its winning streak to 13 matches at home Friday afternoon.

Evan Kannarr scored two goals and Joel Benitez, Ricardo Castanedas, Nathan Holt, William Kerr, Isaac Kruger, Jose Leonidez and Pedro Martinez had a goal each. The Crusaders have eight consecutive shutouts, all by scores of 3-0 or more.

The Crusaders will host Cresset Christian, going for a repeat of an undefeated Carolina Christian regular season, at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
