Lee County 51, Broughton 50
Lee County (4-0) won the fourh quarter 21-14 to come back and win its home-opener Tuesday night against 4A opponent Broughton (3-1). Senior Tre'von Watson drove the length of the court and made the game-winning basket as time expired for the Yellow Jackets.
Senior guard Hunter Jackson led the Yellow Jackets with 15 points and Watson scored 12 points. Senior forward Dewaun McEachin scored 10 points.
Lee County will host a JV/varsity quadruple header against Western Harnett tonight. The Jackets topped the Eagles 50-30 at Western Harnett in the season-opener Nov. 19.

Wayne Country Day 78, Grace Christian 49
Wayne Country Day jumped out to a big lead and kept going to a 48-16 halftime advantage at Grace Christian Tuesday night.
The visitors made 10 three-pointers and shot 72 percent from the field. Lee Atkinson led the Chargers with 14 points.
Zach Boggs led Grace Christian with 19 points and Braxton Diekhopf added 10 points.
Grace Christian (3-3, 1-0) and Lee Christian were slated to meet Friday night but that contest has been rescheduled for Feb. 6. The next game for the Crusaders is at Northwood Temple at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Wayne Christian 49, Lee Christian 45
The Falcons played their best offensive game, and closest game, of the season but fell in a Carolina Christian Conference game at Wayne Christian Tuesday night.
Garrison Weaver led the Falcons with 18 points. Noah Thomas scored 11 points. Wayne Christian rallied after the Falcons led 26-17 at halftime.
Lee Christian (0-4, 0-2) will host Cape Fear Christian on Dec. 13.

Jordan-Matthews 60, Chatham Central 55
Jordan-Matthews (2-0) completed a sweep over county-rival Chatham Central (0-2) in Siler City Tuesday night.
Jaleel Dunn led the Jets with 17 points and Josh Hudson scored 16 points.
Zack Burke had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears. J.T. Moore added 11 points including three three-pointers.
The Jets played Providence Grove last night and will play at Northwood at 7 p.m. Saturday. Chatham Central will host Providence Grove at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Northern Durham 71, Northwood 53
The Knights (5-1) beat visiting Northwood Tuesday night in Durham. Ricky Council led the Knights with 26 points.
Ti Pinnix led the Chargers with 16 points. Jared Worley and Elijah Washington scored 10 each for Northwood.
The Chargers will host East Chapel Hill Friday night.

Union Pines 86, East Montgomery 75
The Vikings (3-1) fell behind 25-12 in the opening period and still trailed 65-63 before taking over in the fourth quarter to win at home Tuesday night.
Three Viking junior guards, Armani McCoy, Tyler Packer and Malik Crawford combined for 11 three-pointers. McCoy and senior post Darrin Carlyle scored 19 points apiece. Crawford finished with 18 points and Packer added 13 points.
Union Pines will play at Richmond at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Overhills 61, Triton 57
The Jaguars (3-1) earned a season split with Triton (2-3) with a win in Spring Lake Tuesday night.
Jeremiah Jenkins led the Jaguars with 24 points and Dexter McCrae added 14 points.
Nick Parker led the Hawks with 19 points. Chris Eason and Trent Fennell scored eight each.
Overhills will host Harnett Central at 7:30 p.m. Friday while the Hawks travel to Midway Friday for an 8 p.m. start.

Jack Britt 69, Pinecrest 58
After a 45-44 win at Jack Britt last week, the Buccaneers (3-2) had an easier time at Pinecrest (1-3) Tuesday night.
Abel Young led Jack Britt with 23 points. Stephen Stephens led the Patriots with 20 points and Kardashian Ragin scored 14 points.
Pinecrest will play at Southern Lee at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Patriots beat the Cavaliers 43-36 in Southern Pines on Nov. 19.

North Moore 67, O'Neal 44
After O'Neal (1-3) led by a hoop after one quarter, the Mustangs (2-2) raced away for a win at O'Neal Tuesday evening.
North Moore will host South Stanly in a Yadkin Valley Conference game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. O'Neal will play at Carolina Friends at 7 p.m. Friday.

Girls basketball
Broughton 74, Lee County 32
Broughton (4-0) rolled past the visiting Lady Jackets (1-3) Tuesday night. Quitta Wilson led Lee County with 11 points and Tara Speelman added five points.
The Lady Jackets will host Western Harnett at 7 p.m. this evening.

Grace Christian 66, Wayne Country Day 21
The Lady Crusaders rolled to a 7-0 mark and their fifth straight win by double digits at home Tuesday evening.
Senior Anna Murr scored 15 of her 22 points in the first quarter as the Lady Crusaders posted 32 points in the first eight minutes. Alexis Ross scored 17 points. Karinda Farrant had a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.
Grace Christian (7-0, 1-0) will visit Northwood Temple for a Carolina Christian Conference game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Chatham Central 44, Jordan-Matthews 24
After the Lady Jets prevailed in overtime last week in Bear Creek, the Lady Bears jumped out to a big lead right away and won in Siler City Tuesday.
Chatham Central led 16-2 after one quarter. It's the first Lady Bear win versus Jordan-Matthews since January 2009.
Ashley Hudson led the Lady Bears with 13 points. Katelyn Moody added seven points. Odyssey Dunn led the Lady Jets with seven points.
Chatham Central will host Providence Grove at 6 p.m. Friday. Jordan-Matthes played Providence Grove last night and will play at Northwood at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Northwood 45, Northern Durham 37
Northwood led 29-28 going to the final quarter and pulled away for a win at Northern Durham (1-2) Tuesday night.
Guard Shontai Totten led the Lady Chargers (3-0) with 19 points. Kristian Eanes scored 13 points and Eboni Watson added eight points.
Northwood will host East Chapel Hill Friday night and Jordan-Matthews Saturday night.

Union Pines 73, East Montgomery 31
The Lady Vikings (3-1) cruised to their second win of the season versus East Montgomery Tuesday night. Union Pines held a 38-14 lead at halftime.
Sophomore center Stephanie Johnson led the Lady Vikings with 17 points and five rebounds. Freshman Nyona Shields added 10 points. Rachel Breassaeale and Samantha Ring scored nine points each.
Union Pines will play at Richmond at 6 p.m. Friday.

Overhills 57, Triton 36
Overhills (4-0) completed a season sweep over the Lady Hawks (1-4) Tuesday night.
Sophomore Janna Aultman had 25 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Lady Jaguars while junior Ge'Naisha Robinson totaled 18 points, eight boards, seven assists and seven steals.
Je'Nae Harvey led Triton with 13 points.
Triton will play at Midway at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Overhills will host Harnett Central at 6 p.m. Friday.

Jack Britt 52, Pinecrest 24
Jack Britt (5-0) got out to a 28-10 lead by halftime and stayed unbeaten at Pinecrest (1-3) Tuesday evening.
Jasmine Chalmers led the Lady Patriots with eight points.
Pinecrest will visit Southern Lee Friday for a 6 p.m. tip.

Northwood Temple 62, Cape Fear Christian 33
Northwood Temple (6-1) rolled to a CCC victory versus Cape Fear Christian (0-3, 0-2) Tuesday in Fayetteville.
Cape Fear Christian will host Kerr-Vance Academy at 6 p.m. Friday.
