Lee Christian's middle school volleyball team is still growing up in its second season as a program. Some of its opponents field sixth-eighth graders while the Lady Falcon upperclassmen are still seventh graders.

Nonetheless, in Lee Christian's first season playing in the Triangle Middle School Conference this fall, the Lady Falcons went 18-1 overall, winning the co-championship in the TMSC regular season and running off three straight victories to win the conference tournament championship.

Lee Christian went 12-1 in the TMSC season to tie Crossroads Christian for the league title.

In the conference tournament, the Lady Falcons defeated Trinity Academy, 25-13, 25-17, and Neuse Christian, 25-11, 25-12, to reach in the final. In the championship match, Lee Christian defeated Crossroads in three sets, winning 26-24, 18-25, 25-19.

The Lady Falcon players are Mekenzie Harris, Rachel Lloyd, Corrine Weaver, MacKenzie Hulsey, Hannah Sturm, Bailey Boniface, Kaitlyn Damon, Lacy Miller, Taylor Rosser, Paige Godfrey and Mackenzie Hare. Carolyn Cummings is the head coach.

"It wasn't the coach. It definitely was the players, I can tell you that," Cummings said.

"We had a very good team and a very good bunch of girls," she said.
