Area scores: Crusaders finish CCC soccer title with perfect mark

Grace Christian (19-2-1, 9-0-0) completed its Carolina Christian Conference season championship with an easy victory, and its 10th consecutive shutout victory, at home Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Evan Kannarr scored a hat trick and had two assists. Nathan Holt scored twice. Jose Leonidez had two assists. Zach Boggs, Ricardo Castanedas, Sergio Charco, Griffin Scully and Joe Urrutia scored a goal each.
The Crusaders win the CCC season with a perfect record for the third straight season, having gone 25-0-0 through the three regular seasons. The Crusaders outscored opponents 79-2 in their nine victories this season.
With a 15-match winning streak overall, the Crusaders have two matches left to their regular season; at home versus First Assembly Christian at 4:30 p.m. today and hosting Fayetteville Academy at 5:15 p.m. Friday. The CCC Tournament begins Monday.
Lee County 3, Richmond 0
The Yellow Jackets (7-5-1) shutout the visiting Raiders (3-6-1) Tuesday night. Goalie Isai Arroyo made four saves for the Jackets. Ivan Mireles scored two goals and Daniel Briggs scored one.
The JV Yellow Jackets beat Richmond 2-0.
Lee County played at Union Pines last night and will host Terry Sanford for a CFVC game on Oct. 9.
Clayton 3, Harnett Central 1
The Comets (12-3-1, 7-1-0) prevailed at Harnett Central (4-9-1, 1-6-0) Tuesday night. Harnett Central travels to face Jack Britt at 7 p.m. tonight.
O'Neal 6, Fayetteville Christian 2
Richard Catania and J.R. Moore scored hat tricks to lead the Falcons (7-6-1, 5-2-0) to a Cape Fear Independent Conference win at Fayetteville Christian Tuesday afternoon.
The Falcons led 3-1 at halftime and scored the last three goals of the match, coming in the last 27 minutes of play, to pull away. Tyler Sinclair had two assists. O'Neal has won five straight matches.
The Falcons will host Grace Christian of Raleigh at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Cresset Christian d. Grace Christian 25-15, 25-22, 25-20
Conference-leading Cresset Christian (13-7, 9-0) won in straight sets at Grace Christian. The Lady Crusaders (4-9, 2-6) host First Assembly Christian at 4:30 p.m. today.
Western Harnett d. Smithfield-Selma 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 25-10
The Lady Eagles (6-10, 2-5) won a Two Rivers Conference match at Smithfield-Selma (5-13, 0-7) Tuesday night for a season sweep of the Lady Spartans.
Western Harnett hosts South Johnston at 5 p.m. today.
Pinecrest d. Scotland 14-25, 14-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-9
The Lady Patriots rallied to win the last three sets to give visiting Scotland (12-2, 5-1) its first Southeastern Conference win of the season. It's the first Pinecrest win over the Fighting Scots since at least 2009.
Pinecrest (8-10, 3-3) plays an SEC match at Purnell Swett at 6 p.m. tonight.
Garner d. Harnett Central 25-13, 25-15, 25-10
Garner (16-2, 10-1) swept the Lady Trojans in a conference match Tuesday night. Harnett Central (2-15, 2-8) played Triton last night and will host East Wake at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Triton d. Cleveland 25-13, 25-15, 22-25, 27-25
The Lady Hawks (12-2, 7-0) remained atop the Two Rivers Conference with a win at home Tuesday night. Triton played at Harnett Central last night and goes to Smithfield-Selma today for a 5:30 p.m. start.

The Lady Knights avenged a 7-2 Village Christian win earlier this season with a one-match win at Village Christian Tuesday. Chatham Charter plays at O'Neal at 4 p.m. today.
Overhills 4, E.E. Smith 3
The Lady Jaguars (5-5, 5-5) earned a sweep versus E.E. Smith in Fayetteville Tuesday. Overhills played South View yesterday and hosts Jack Britt at 4 p.m. today.
Triton 5, Cleveland 4
The Lady Hawks (9-0, 8-0) clinched the Two Rivers Conference season title versus visiting Cleveland (10-4, 7-2) Tuesday afternoon. Triton hosted Corinth Holders yesterday.
North Moore 7, Queens Grant 2
The Lady Mustangs (8-6, 8-5) defeated visiting Queens Grant in a Yadkin Valley match Tuesday. North Moore played Chatham Central yesterday.
Mid-State Conference tri-meet
Jordan-Matthews hosted Reidsville and Cummings in a conference cross country meet on Tuesday. The Lady Jets won their meet while the Jets placed second. Reidsville's Kelsey McKinney won the girls race in 22:58. Reidsville won the boys meet. Jordan-Matthews will run at Graham on Tuesday afternoon.
